I could have sworn i read somewhere that Tobey was back in LA for more filming. Plus i believe they were in NY doing some location work as well, so it looks like imdb might be wrong about this.Wouldn't be the first time.

I though I read somewhere else that they still had some filming to do. Would they already be in post-production with so long to go? Though I could understand if they had already started on a lot of the FX. I expect Venom and such need a lot of work.

COMIC-CON: SPIDER-MAN 3

It's now official: Venom, in his full slobbering-mouth glory, is a villain in Spider-Man 3.

Before a raucous crowd at Comic-Con International on Sunday, director Sam Raimi unveiled a presentation from the film, that, despite include many temporary special effects, raised the roof and gave fans the moment they had been waiting for.

The black ooze dripped down toward Eddie Brock -- who earlier in the clip prayed for Peter Parker's death -- bonding with him, and then for a brief flash, Venom looked square at the screen.

Raimi, who admitted he was more of a fan of the 1960s/70's Spider-Man villains, said he was convinced to use Venom by Marvel's Avi Arad, a producer of the film.

He also noted that principal photography wrapped about two weeks ago.

Raimi was joined on the panel by cast members Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Before the panel, The Continuum was part of two roundtable interviews with Raimi and cast, where they divulged some details and shed some light about the film.

Retro, what part of the clip is the "Venom looking square at the camera?"

Also, I'm not even sure what I'm looking at when viewing the end of the clip. Is that Venom, and if so, does he leap at the camera?

I've seen a couple of posts that look to be a screencap of venom's mouth and teeth, but I swear I can't make it out.

I'm not sure. I'm not used to squinting my eyes at bootleg footage. Its so hard to see whats going on in some of those shots.Especially the money shot with Venom.

too bad it took until Avi finally told him to put Venom in there

See I knew it had to be something on the reason why Venom was introduced as a Venom. Because I remeber years back when Spiderman 1 was out in the theaters that Raimi mentioned that he didn't want to do any of the 80's 90's villians but the classic rogues gallery of Spiderman villans. Which I believe that Spiderman has the best villians out of all Marvel.
