Well, it's not like the opportunity is going to come up anytime soon...

...OR IS IT?!

I think we will see 80% CGI and 20% prothetics.
Errr. Nah dude lol.

The Venom Costume takes about an hour to two hours to put on and about 4 hours of make up.

altogether Topher spends about 8 hours of his day (during a venom shoot) getting dressed. So in reality the CGI is the minority when it comes to Venom.

Go check the videos of the Comic Con. Topher explains his costume ritual there.

ya hopefully that's just for the poster and not the actual costume

Remember in the comics Venom looked lot Spidey b4 he became a monster...Its probably just lyke that bcuz itz transforming for the 1st time

You're wrong. Venom always looked the way he has. Different artists justh ave different interpertations of him. Simple as that.

Also, the Venom costume doesn't have "webbing" on it per-se'.

It's texture is mimicking the original spider-man costume, but it is NOT...I repeat NOT as bad as you all wouldl ike to think. The Venom costume is very very beautiful. Works well for the movie.

Yes, it will be amazing looking no matter what.

I can't belieive that he has webbing on his costume!:( :down

no he doesnt he just has the little circles like psidey but he doesnt have any web lines like spidey

Errr. Yeah...he does. At first glance....:o

It will probably be a mix. I think they want Grace's performance but for transformations and major effects (like fangs and tongue, especially tongue) I would expect some more CGI. Remember the Doc Ock tentacles they were CGI for over half the time but occasionally they'd be puppets too though.

what? prostehtics for the hulk? that'd look ridiculous.

Hi, remember me?
O...m...g :o that was one of the biggest mistakes of FF...They looked at the Hulk and not their OWN movie. The thing has rocky skin, the CG wouldnt look bad on him.

Either way I thank they can go with a mixture for Venom

i dont care as long as it stays true to the true venom look.

People would be surprised at how many times the puppets were used.

Well, that depends on what you think the true Venom look actually is.

Is it being bulky and muscular?

Is it having a big white spider on the chest?

Is it having a long tongue and claws?

I think that those who are OK with the concept of Venom being a monsterized version of Spidey's black costume (regardless of whether it's the movie or comic costume) will be satisfied with the filmic Venom. I personally think that Sam Raimi knows enough about monsters to make Venom look scary and impressive no matter what. I've been a little put off about Topher/Eddie not being a very big guy, but I'll reserve judgement to see how that plays out onscreen.
