Looks like they are tinkering with the web-swinging....not that I mind.

Journalistic fail: It's Miguel O'HARA, not Garcia.

Still don't like the story of this game.

And Miguel Garcia, hahahaha.

Lol, I noticed..

3 minutes of gameplay footage.

Great voice acting, that is most definitely Ben Diskin voicing Anti-Venom. He voiced Venom in TSSM as well, it's kind of surreal to have him and Josh going at it again.

Also, near the end is a glimpse at Mr. Evil Scientist.

Cool footage! It's great to hear Ben Diskin and josh gonig at it again, but it's also sad ebcause The SPectacular Spider-Man was the best!

You didn't even play SD, so...did you even play the AC games or the Halo ones? :cwink:
How many times do I have to say I finished SMSD twice? And my thought of it didn't change?
Assassin's Creed 1 is annoying
Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood are awesome
I played Halo, it's overrated
And, if you did...to say SD was better than the first AC game then to call the "Halo" series boring likely shows that you don't like games with an actual STORY.
How about I enjoy good gameplay more than story
Repetitive FPS stinks
Assassin's Creed 1 has these 2 really annoying things:
1. Climb a wall and get stuck, need to move to one side or down to climb all the way up again
2. When I fight some soldiers, others keep gathering in a real annoying manner, and not only after murdering some guy I was sent to kill

SD looked way better than this. The gameplay, again, doesn't interest me. But it's nice to hear another guy from TSSM.

Lol...you say Assassin's Creed was annoying...let me guess, because of its repetitiveness? SD has a pretty good amount of repetitiveness as well, but you didn't think it was boring or something?

Assassin's Creed has its downfalls, but it was the first in a game...Hell, Combat Evolved has its downfalls as well, but Halo 2 made up for them.

And to prefer gameplay over story...you must be just a casual gamer. No wonder you say Halo is "overrating".

I have to say, I watched that gameplay footage and I'm a bit perplexed at why there seems to be so much hate for this game already. It really doesn't look that bad at all. Will it be game of the year? No, but once again I don't think anyone can deny that Beenox is trying. They seem to be building off what worked in SD, instead of trying to find a new gimmick and see if it sticks (a plan that MANY developers have tried over the years, especially with Spidey).

Looks good. But I wanna hear Josh quip it out. That is where he truly shines, not sounding all moody and pissed. But I like it.

The audio still double layers, you can hear it at the end. Two lines gets muddled together. That was a pet peeve of mine in SD, so that kinda sucks. And it looks like they've taken away the web fist from the game, replacing it with that huge lump of web thats been in the screenshots. Good on them considering the the fist was the worst move in the whole game, made it so that I almost never finished the light combo.

This is the attack I think they replaced the fist with: http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/115/1159370/spider-man-edge-of-time-20110404013628834.jpg

Why is a soundtrack from Web of Shadows used here again?

You read why I said it was annoying? nothing said repetition

Hello, I stated what I think of every level between the first and the last having the exact same pattern even before I play it, of course I found that dull after playing it myself

Assassin's Creed has its downfalls, but it was the first in a game...Hell, Combat Evolved has its downfalls as well, but Halo 2 made up for them.
It's not like they didn't have experience with what they do, Prince of Persia is done by a different team even with the tiny bit of evolvement in annoyance

And to prefer gameplay over story...you must be just a casual gamer. No wonder you say Halo is "overrating".
Move, shoot, move, shoot, move, shoot, move, shoot, and I can't even see the character I'm in control of
WHY THE HELL SHOULD I CARE FOR THE STORY OF SUCH A THING?

I assumed you meant repetitiveness mostly because your "annoyances" were a bit childish. Those are two things to easily get past and look past.

And nothing wrong with Halo's point of view dude...I can understand you don't like the gameplay, but to not like the story that comes with it that you don't seem to care about is ridiculous. Halo has an enriched mythology, moreso than what SD intended.

And...the Prince of Persia series...not a huge fan of those, so can't say anything as I never played them. They never made me interested. But, I can say they're not done by a different team. All done by Ubisoft Montreal.

Assassin's Creed was a bad game. It had production values through the roof but it wasn't fun in the least. No amount of good story could save that game. It was way more repetitive than SD too. Now Assassin's Creed 2 on the other hand is awesome. They took everything that worked from the first and made it miles better, and everything that didn't they reworked. And Shattered Dimensions was in a way the first in a series to, at least in Beenox's series.

Saying that one must be a casual gamer because one prefer gameplay over story is ******ed to. Considering how rare good stories are in gaming that sentiment makes no sense at all. I rather play a game with good gameplay (you know, the stuff that really matter in a GAME) and crap story than a game with a good story and crappy gameplay.

Annoyance 1 kept happening a lot, and without a thing to block my way to go up
Annoyance 2 was just soldiers getting over me mercilessly, and I seriously mean mercilessly, get rid of four and 5 more come replacing them, happened really oftenly

If I was able to see who I control I'd care

Assassins Creed 1 was still alot more fun than SD, on the whole. Sure it the side missions were way more repetitive in nature, but what did SD do that was new? When the first AC came out, it was amazingly unique. People take it for granted now after having player 2 other games, but the free running and the combat alone had me constantly coming back. The story had me hooked and the cliff hanger had be dying for a sequel.

I loved the first hours or so in AC1. I did every side mission, climbed every view point and saved every woman and priest in need. It was awesome. But by the third time I did it, I was so tired of it. And when you realize that all you assassination planning doesn't matter, there is no incentive to do it again. Like when you're about to kill the bow man, I had planned my route perfectly and then you can't do anything but get ambushed anyway.

Now I won't take away the games influence or importance, but to me is wasn't a fun game. It picked up again in the last hour when they switched up what you were doing, but it wasn't enough to save the game for me. But it was a new idea from a team that had never done that kind of stuff before, and you could see it had potential, which payed of gloriously two years later with the sequel.

One reason the free-running wasn't enough to capture me was I played it as whole for the first time last year, after having played inFamous. Compared to that it was just to slow. But when I first played it at friends around release I loved the free-running.

And this isn't about me loving mediocre games Anno. It's about enjoying okay games for what they are. I have other hobbies and my life doesn't revolve around if a game is a masterpiece or not. Of course I can see that Shattered Dimensions isn't in the same league as Uncharted, GTA, Arkham or any other game that is considered GOTY-material, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it and looking forward to its successor.

Yeah, well there you go dtud. Obviously it's dated now, but to call it a crap game comparitively is stupid. When it came out, it was an awesome, new IP, something very rare these days.

People aren't seriously comparing Assassins Creed and Shattered Dimensions are they?

Well, I didn't mean that AC was a crap game, that was just a general statement from my side about my preference in gaming.

And while AC is a great game/achievement on a technical level it is a badly designed game. (In my opinion, this is still subjective.) And while it was something I didn't experience fully until about a year ago, I did spend time with it at release, and had roughly the same opinion then. And a lot of other did to. On the other hand I know others loved the game for the approach it took.

To tie this into Spider-Man at least a little, I can say that I enjoyed my time with SD more than with AC. And it being a Spider-Man game certainly helped in this, as it is a mythos I already know and love. Compared to the AC universe which was knew.

EDIT: ProjectPat, more like talking about different game preferences. :P

Yeah, It was flawed, but as an IP it was still very good, as evidenced by the massive franchise it's become.

Absolutely. No denying that.

I may have spoken prematurely about the web-fist not being in the game btw, watched that footage again and when he says "Anti-Venom, why so anti social" he pulls one out. Sigh.

Even though I hated AC1, I can still say it was better than SD. Even with repetitive mission structure. SD failed to capitalize on so many opportunities. Seriously, you manage to have Deadpool in the game (voiced by Nolan North no less) and you spend like 2/3 of the level destroying cameras. It was just lazy.

Yeah, but the reason i'm not bashing this game is for all SD's flaws, this game still has me way more intrigued than SD ever did. I don't know what it is, but the whole concept just seems more robust. I mean, having actual, character developing dialogue in itself is a big plus, but that fight scene with Anti Venom, even though kinda simple, just looked a lot more fun than any of the fight scenes in SD were.

Ehh...I prefer something that is incredible, or at least close to it. Now, I own SD and it's a fun ride, and it's more of a memory kind of thing of why I still have it, because of each of the four Spidey's voices, but as a "perfect" game, nope, not at all, and the story is awful. But, most of the time I do prefer the more "perfect" game which has the combination of great gameplay and story then just picking either or.

Edge of Time, however, shows me that EOT is nothing new and I'm not going to waste money on it, and if I do, it'll only be $5 to rent it.

People aren't seriously comparing Assassins Creed and Shattered Dimensions are they?

I know, right? SD is EASILY the better game anyways :oldrazz:
