The Spider-Man/ Mysterio stuff was visually some of the most amazing stuff I’ve seen in an MCU movie.
And I’m not sure if this is even a spoiler or not but....
SPIDER SENSE. Thank god for exploring it a bit more. This has been one of my major gripes with the charcter... Completely geeked out Near the end when Spiderman just lets his spider sense take over and doesn’t get touched at all with no webshooters against all the drones. Stopping mysterio while he was invisible from shooting him point blank in the head was Spiderman at his finest.
My feelings about Mysterio as a movie villain shifted between indifferent and opposed for years.
But between the acting and the visuals he is now probably my favorite Spider-Man movie villain.
Their execution of the Mysterio character blew away any expectation that I could have imagined.
Spectacular. Mysterio was beyond everything I imagined, in a good way. Visuals were top notch and the characters were all pretty funny and charming. All in all, a great Spider-Man film.
Just got done seeing Spiderman about a hour and a half ago and man that was amazing! Action was so much better than the last one and I think my second favorite scence in all 8 Spiderman movies happend! I need to see the movie again. Spiderman 2 that came out in 2004 is still my favorite Spiderman movie but far from home is in its ball park. The after credit stuff was a big surprise in multiple ways and man the wait for the next one is going to be killer!

I liked it a lot more than I was expecting I would, so that's cool. Definitely gotta see it again in a few days to really let it sink in. I've been waiting my whole life to see Mysterio on the big screen, I knew it could be possible and it's like they ripped it straight out of any true believer's head and put it on the screen. Like a succession of shots that was just things I wanted to see, definitely a highlight.
I think the stakes felt good in this movie, it has drama but the drama still is in that teenage realm and still has urgency so it works again. I think watching it I just came to terms with most of the usual drama I want just not being part of what they're doing, and what they were doing is entertaining enough and well done for the most part so I can't fault it.
Homecoming is a good one but right now I might have to put this over Homecoming. The better action definitely helps, it's nice seeing Spidey actually becoming more heroic and capable despite still not being perfect at it. Put a smile on my face and certainly has some fresh stuff to offer, not the best or definitive movie in my eyes but easily enjoyable and it's one of the better efforts out of all of the Spidey movies!
Will do. Thankfully, I didn't see her post-credits review until after leaving the theater.
Anyway, I saw Far From Home today, and OH MY GOD that was a good movie. Definitely broke into my top 5 Marvel movies - I described it as "teen romance meets psychological horror movie", and I think that description really fits. Tom Holland, as always, is such a great character to be invested in. Jake Gyllenhaal was
one delightfully dislikeable villain
, and Samuel L. Jackson & Cobie Smulders make a fine team, as always. Loved it so much. Zendaya was a little flat, I thought. Marisa Tomei and Jon Favreau are just ADORABLE. It's a very cute movie - when, you know, it's not also nightmarish.
And can we just talk about those post-credits scenes??????
So, so like, Spidey is now on the run, I'm assuming, and he's armed with this EDITH tech, which is hugely dangerous, and then we've got Nick Fury up in space, what is he doing, why is he there, does this tie into the Eternals, or Captain Marvel 2, is Secret Invasion happening, what is going on, I am so confused!!!!!!!
This movie was so awesome. Loved every part of it. This is a highschool/ romance/Superhero movie. Cast was great. Tom is Spider-Man. Jake is Mysterio. I loved the highschool part as much as I loved the Superhero part. Peter and MJ were so adorable. This movie has great action, adorable characters, heart and is also well written. I can't wait to see this again. Best Superhero movie of the year for me.

with how well Vulture and Mysterio were realized maybe after all the crap they got for villains Marvel is putting an maximum effort to putting out Great villains can't wait for Scorpion or whoever they have in mind for the 3rd spidey movie
I feel like they're gonna go with a villain team up next time around to ramp it up. They can always do Sinister Six down the line. I know we're looking at Kraven and Chameleon hopefully.

Spider-Man 3 and TASM 2 can flip flop to be honest since I found both to be disappointing. Spider-Man 2 only gets the bump over Homecoming because it had more of a Spider-Man feel with him swinging through the city and Molina as Doc Ock. I'm glad Far From Home had a grand feel to it. I really liked Homecoming and understood they wanted to scale it down a bit but I missed the big city aspect from the previous films.
