I hope Sandman isn’t included in that if the rumors are true. One of Spider-Man’s more well known villains being nothing more than an illusion would be super lame. Especially seeing as he wasn’t even a proper character last time we saw him.

Edit: Let it be known, I really like this idea, and it’s a perfect story for Mysterio and could offer some great character stuff for Peter. Just wouldn’t like making some of Spidey’s popular and good villains nothing more than illusions.

It's so weird that we are already going to get a trailer for a movie with a character that is dead in the universe. We all know that Spider-Man would eventually come back but it's still just so weird. What are the stakes for this character in Avengers 4? None whatsoever.

It seems the A4 trailer was definitely delayed due to the funeral. Idk what it means for what the FFH trailer will and won't show, but since Sony is in charge of marketing and not Disney/Marvel, it might not matter that much. I'm sure we'll get a few glimpses of Mysterio, iirc most every MCU trailer has shown the villain. As for Spidey, we'll probably get a brief shot at the end or something. I don't think marketing this movie before A4 is quite as difficult as people make it out to be.

If the way Sony marketed Homecoming tells us anything, we'll be getting a hell of a lot more than that haha. The first Homecoming teasers showed quite a bit. We might not get that much of Spidey, but I'm certain we'll get more than enough of Mysterio.

Easy fix. don't show any scenes that have spider-man in them. that way Spider-man: Away from home will remain a mystery to whether he lives

I think people are making the marketing out to be a bigger deal than it is. Even Sony can find a way to work around Spidey's "death", they aren't that incompetent. And even if they do show a bit too much, it's ok, the GA is smart enough to know that Spider-Man isn't gonna stay dead.

If Mysterio is pretending to be a good guy and is fighting four villains who are the four elements.
Then Mysterio is all about theatrics.
Earth-Quicksand
Water-Hydro-Man
Wind-Swarm
Fire-Molten-Man

Plus Chameleon is suppose to be in this movie.
Are they gonna be the Sinister Six,but actually it's just two villains while the other four are just holograms.

Is Chameleon and Mysterio both gonna pretend to be Spider-Man cause the real Spider-Man is dead.And Chameleon and Mysterio fight each other to the death and the winner gets to be Spider-man.

Or Chameleon is the only one who pretends to be Spider-man and Mysterio pretends to be a superhero fighting his illusion guys.But then they fight each other cause each one is getting in the way of the other.

io9 reached out to both Sony and Disney about this problem created by Infinity War’s plot. A Sony representative would only say the studio will work with Marvel to figure out the Spider-Man strategy.
