Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Huh interesting, was unaware that they did that for people internationally traveling to the U.S. For Americans it’s facial recognition, though maybe that’s changed. I haven’t left the country since April of last year.

Having visited all the spots we know Peter is visiting in the film so far, from my experience they don’t do any kind of fingerprint or retinal scan. Though it’s a movie and not really all that important to address. Especially if he’s working for Fury who would be on top of that.

I'm suspecting it's fan art, but can someone confirm or deny the authenticity of this? Reverse search isn't helping either way.

Well when the plane is landing, or when you've just landed, they have all these screens with airport staff saying "welcome" and "we hope you enjoy your stay in the US". Then there's a bunch of further screens emphasising the word "welcome".

Then once you get to the checkpoint, the security make all non-US citizens feel most unwelcome. They treat everyone with suspicion and if you say you're visiting your relative, they look at you in disbelief and say stuff like "What relative???!!!??"

Fan art done by Boss Logic. He posted it on instagram earlier today.

That I did know. I had family visiting from the UK last year and they briefly talked about how unwelcome the airport felt while going through the checkpoint. Hell, despite being born here and a legal citizen, I feel uncomfortable going through security simply because I am of Indian descent. I like flying and traveling, but I absolutely hate airports.

"You don't know him, he goes to another school" :o

I tell you, they treat everyone like they're a terrorist or as if you're trying to illegally immigrate to their country when you're just visiting relatives for Christmas. It's not like visiting for the holidays is such a far fetched excuse and barely believable. :o

So we're getting
basically personality-less versions of Sandman, Hydro-Man, Molten Man, and maybe Cyclone? And a bunch of CGI monsters? I don't know about any of that from just reading it. The Mysterio stuff sounds like it could be different in a good way, though- I don't trust Beck!

So if Mysterio is using spells that look like Dr. Strange's spells, does that mean that he knows of the existence of sorcerers?

This \/

Mysterio is obviously faking his powers/abilities and likely causing all the monster problems in the first place.

Unless they've radically changed Mysterio, nothing is as it appears.

I'm guessing he's similarly seeking fame and fortune and he's hoping to do that by making himself appear as the next big hit superhero wonder. He doesn't care who gets hurt or who dies from the carnage he creates as long as people love him due to the fake image he projects.

Then, Peter reveals him for the fraud that he really is -

Which, causes Mysterio to truly become insane and to seek vengeance against Spidey for ruining his one true chance at stardom.

The guy has always been a tech wizard capable of making people see anything.

My only question is, are they going to reveal this in the trailers or have Beck's twist surprise some audience members.

Do we have any description as to what hydro man looked like in the trailer?
The given description:

fighting some “elemental creatures” that are huge monsters, looking a lot like Raimi’s big Sandman, with sand water and lava monsters. According to the cast, there is a wind one too.

I'm guessing they're all going to look like (or at least from what the description details - sand (rock), water (ice), lava, wind) :
latest

latest

Disney's Hercules, Titans

Description states they're like:

latest

So, the Titans would fit that design scheme.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if ol' webhead cracks that joke mid-fight - it's way too good to pass up.

Plus, it's what I'd personally imagine Mysterio creating since he's one for theatrics.

IGN just posted a more detailed summary including more water monster details:

Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Description - IGN

Unsure why IGN only includes the water monster though rather than sand, lava, and wind....

The sequence sees Hydro-Man emerge from the Venice waters and attack the Italian city in a sequence full of explosions, screams and chaos. Spider-Man starts to fight him but gets into a little trouble and that's when Mysterio appears to help him at the end of the trailer.

From the description it sounds like Sandman (SM3) mixed in with (of course with modern effects though) --

I'd say it also further confirms my theory that Mysterio is aiming for stardom. Spidey likely loses the fight and Mysterio wins since it's all an illusion that Mysterio creates and controls. Having Spidey lose the fight and needing Mysterio, also results in Mysterio coming off as more powerful than Spider-Man which is something he'd definitely want.

So word is from what I've seen online, Hydro-Man and Molten Man might be illusions of Mysterio to make him look like a hero but in the end he'll turn on Spider-Man and Nick Fury who has hired him.

Do you guys think Disney forced Sony to delay the trailer, because of potential Avengers 4 spoilers?

No. Disney actually helped them with the trailer to hide the fact that it takes place after Infinity War and End Game

As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, this MCU Spider-Man just isn't for me. It just saddens me. There just is not anything that interests me in anything I've read or seen from "Far From Home" and I really disliked and was underwhelmed by "Homecoming ". Wish it wasn't the case, but it is.

I love Holland and I thought Homecoming was great but not as good as Raimi's movies. Too many absent characters, too many changes, no Uncle Ben existence yet, etc.

The movie worked well but it isn't without flaws. This sequel is walking on cracking ice to me. I hope it isn't stupid.

I'm really wondering what Mysterio's end goals are in the film since I don't exactly see him being a good guy throughout the film.

Venom was somewhat enjoyably bad. Suicide Squad was just painfully bad.

They are both really bad but at least SS had Will smith and they lady who played Hardley was perfect for the rule.

The Mysterio stuff sounds right up his alley and perfect for the character. I just hope they don't stray too far from his comic book origins. He's actually one of the few Spider-Man's villains that could actually carry a full movie without changing too much about him.

Edit: Just to be a little more clear with what I mean- I'm predominately talking about keeping his special effects/stuntman background because that's always been really cool and intersting.

Fame and adoration. In MCU world, many love superheroes even more so than celebrities. He wants that spotlight. So he sets up to get it any way he knows how - creating false illusions for him to fight so that people see him as a hero; he doesn’t care who gets hurt or dies in the destruction he creates either. In the monsters scene Mysterio isn’t there to help Spidey, he’s there to make it appear as though he’s more capable than Spider-Man is - that only Mysterio can save the day. Mysterio also gets a thrill out of people not catching onto his whole act too since it makes him feel smarter than everyone around him. Which, when Spider-Man reveals him for the fraud that he really is - will make him go bat**** crazy. He’s a grade A sociopath and narcissist.

Do we know if Mysterio was wearing his classic costume or the costume we saw in the set pics? Really hanging to see the classic costume on screen.
