Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Nice trailer, there's something very likeable about Tom as Spidey/PP that keeps me interested in this version and of course Mysterio has been a long time coming and looks great.

I agree, just bored by the enemy-type.

Lol, anyone remember the Elementals from Ghost-Rider? The Hidden? Oh lawd.

latest

That was bad flashback. Didn't he defeat one of them by just looking at them or something lame?

But he's not alone. Mysterio will help him out. :o

"Electro"?
Mysterio or no Mysterio, I just find it odd that of all the people out there with abilities, Fury would go to Parker for assistance. I know it's the whole MCU and they can't have every hero turning up for every other heroes film... I suppose as long as there's a valid explanation I'm okay with it I guess?

I think it’s probably that Peter just happens to be in the right place for Fury

Don't recall, but I do remember the wind elemental being sucked into Ghost Rider's spinning chain like it was a fan. lmao

Yeah, the events of most Marvel films have occurred over the course of like 12 hours to maybe 2 days, which doesn't leave a ton of time to get the crew together... we haven't gotten explanations for where any heroes have been during another character's solo film, I doubt its gunna happen here either... Fury needed someone in Venice or London, and Spidey was there

I'm a bit iffy on the 'giant monster's gimmick. Whether they have actual substance (a safe bet, I think) or are just light shows, it's just not what I would have pictured a Mysterio illusion to be. I would have liked to have seen something more along the lines of making people think up is down, environmental changes and impersonating Spider-man.

We may still see all that. I don't think they want the audience to know he is the mastermind of the movie, so they don't want them to know it's sleight of hand. I am sure once he is revealed as the true bad guy, we'll see more of that stuff.

Really good trailer.
I still can't get over how weird this whole situation is with Spider-Man, Nick Fury... already going around when they are suppose to be dusted. Such a dumb decision to have this movie come so close to AEG.

Anyway i wasn't that pumped to SM: Homecoming because i felt it was too much of the same, too soon... but i was very pleasantly surprised when i saw the movie and it's definitely one of the better MCU movies. I'm on board for this.

Hate: Taking the teeth out of Avengers Endgame. Everyone is back as if nothing happened

Yeah, that's one thing about this post-Avengers: Endgame films. The world definitely doesn't look affected at all by what happened. I wish Marvel really had the balls to keep 50% of the population dead. Imagine a Spider-Man swinging around in that kind of alternate world.

I think I read somewhere that Sony demanded a second Spidey movie within a certain time and I also think they are largely responsible for the marketing schedule.

Even greater mystery is that Peter does not ask where are the Avengers question to Fury. :o

It was never going to happen. If you thought it was, you set yourself up for disappointment.

I know it's my issue but I can't really enjoy this trailer or Punisher S2 until I see Endgame I'm having a hard time getting passed that
now for the trailer put me in the camp that hates his supporting cast I truly just can't and Happy and May HUGE PASS

Tom is great and Jake looks awesome hopefully that aspect pays off

So Sony is to blame then. Undercutting AEG beginners guide.

Why do they keep adding that CG layer over the suit?! Especially in a scene like this...

Even though it was obvious before, guess I never really thought about how ridiculous this trailer would look releasing so soon to the Endgame trailer like it was originally rumored to. Spidey's presence lol..should've waited another year to drop this movie.

It was always obvious that wouldn't happen. They weren't going to save a handful of heroes and leave half of the universe dead. That doesn't mean the world won't be affected, though. And the trailer can't show any of that, because it would be further spoilers.

The end of Endgame will likely be very relevant to this. Think about it, all of the heroes likely to work with Fury are getting retired. Spidey is really his best bet.

I am seriously not bothered by this at all. We have known for ages that Marvel would not keep half their universe snapped. So it stands to reason Endgame brings everyone back. It only really matters how the journey plays out in the movie itself. I don't care about a movie that takes place after being marketed already. It doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know.

None but the most hopelessly naive ever thought characters like Spider-Man or Black Panther were gonna stay dead. It’s not giving away anything that wasn’t obvious.
