Film has overall been kind to Spider-Man. Yeah, it dipped majorly from SM3-TASM2, but overall, it's been really kind.

I enjoyed certain elements of it...hated others. That movie was a mixed bag for me. TASM2 however....

I prefer Spider-Man 3 to both movies. Yes, also a mixed bag. But I think more of it worked because SM1 and SM2 provided a strong foundation to where there were certain parts of the movie that worked. Everything that didn't largely revolved around shoehorning in Venom and Raimi clearly not liking him. But, I still prefer Tobey to Garfield and Lizard was just too goofy and unsympathetic. Not all villains should be, but Lizard is one of the few that should be. It's why he is a great character in the comics.

That's just my take, though. Also, loathed the parents plot line.
