Comics Spider-Man in February

*Tears green hair out*

There's just too many freakin' Goblins!!!!

Yeh.....it's feels like light years between current issues of Spidey right now...however, "One More Delay" isn't much of anything special anyway...that delay it is experiencing now magnifies how bad this agenda really is. Although, I am still holding out hope they are not just furthering the anti-marrige agenda when we FINALLY get to read the END of it...sheesh.

Anyway...just got the BIB hardcover tpb and reading that again....not bad overall, but the stingers still bother me...a lot.

I liked these issues, but it still also hits me as ABSURD that spidey would whine about how UNMASKING was a DUMB MISTAKE and how he has lost his life and endangered everyone he knows...

I mean...this is stuff he ALREADY KNEW before he unmasked and KNEW over the years of continuity...

Otherwise...I'll be reading a lot of back tpb's...(With all these delays that are SO ACCEPTABLE these days...) ANd especially if they axe the marriage like i know they will.

I miss the days of Bags and other artists that kicked butt and did in on time to boot!!

That was one of the problems I had with the whole "Unmasking" situation. Yes I will admit that it opened the doors for some interesting storylines even though I feel Marvel blotched up the "Spider-man/ Jonah" Issue. It was solid but, I really expected much more. But anyway....I hated hearing Spider-man complain about the Unmasking because, as the reader/fan I'm left saying "duh dumbass" and I don't like to talk to my favorite character like that, :oldrazz: . I still do not understand how anyone could justify that Spider-man unmasking was the "smart" thing to do. It was one of the most out of character moments he's ever been portrayed in.

Also, about "OMD", its annoying waiting for the title cause its been so damn lackluster to start. Now I don't have any 616 Spider-man to read at all. I'm basically stuck waiting for "OMD" to finish.

Since part two of OMD came out I have split up with my gf of over two years and got completely over it.
Who knows what I will be doing by the time part 3 hits shelves,... maybe Il be a suit on wall street.

We may have an entirely new format of comics by the time we get another installment of OMD....(holo-books??)....:woot:

It irks me that LATENESS is now a norm in this industry it seems.

Maybe people on the inside should start looking at THAT for why the comic book industry isn't as hot as it used to be. (....i can state as a FACT that MARRIAGE is NOT the factor causing a slump for any comicbook hero anywhere..)

This was never an issue or allowed to be before, when I was growing up, reading 12 issues a year AND an annual.

JQ and the other heads need to draw the line and set the standard again. It was achievable before and still is....

Same here.

I truly hope that "BND" can bring back some of that old Spidey spirit as well. The 616 Spider-verse has no direction at the moment. It's almost as if Marvel doesn't know what they want for the character. We're going from "The Other" to Civil War to "Back in Black" to "OMD".

I just wish we could get a simple story arc of "Goodguy vs. Villain" or some kind of stability. I'm tired of all these events.

I'm really looking forward to that miniseries With Great Power. Tony Harris is an amazing artist. I don't know how many of you have ever read or browsed over Ex Machina by Brian K. Vaughn but Harris does the artwork for that and it's beautiful.

As soon as I read about this in Comic Shop News a few weeks back I was stoked. I can't wait until this mini hits the stands. And the concept is great. The time period in between Pete first getting his powers and the death of Uncle Ben. There was actually a lot of time the passed but back in Stan's day they didn't have trade paper backs, hahaha.

I'm a stickler for loose ends in that I hate the freaking things :cmad: ...if they're not going to retcon Sins Past to hell.....then I personally wouldn't mind seeing Gabrielle coming back.....just so we can stick a freaking glider through the back of his head!!

Yeah well, we've heard JQ's take on a bad story that everyone agrees is bad. He believes that if it's not reffered to, people will eventualy forget.

I see his point, but there's one major flaw. People who tend to get into comics are at least slightly obsessive... So naturally people will go and find out the past loose ends.

I prefer the ends to be tied personally, but lots of writers like to leave little things like that.

Also, there's the point that they may feel like they're wasting time/money/effort on telling a story about a character that's universally hated.

I agree with you though, I'd love to read a story on Sins Past where they retcon the whole thing and stab Grey Gobs in the head!:word:

Yea, it does look great. It's time that the curtain was pulled back on 616 Spidey's origin!

I don't think it was much to do with trades, things were different then. Storytelling techniques were different then. Artists had a lot more work to do, there were no comps etc. Also, comics were still in shock from the Mcarthy days... so writers had a very small amount of time to impress there audience. Not to mention the fact that Martin Goodman didn't want to publish Spider-Man so Stan had to sneak it into AF!

Also, characterisation was a new thing, (God bless Stan the man!) so over time writers had to get deeper to keep things fresh...

Oh well, looks like i'm still the only one around here who's looking forward to Brand New Day and Spidey's exciting new status-quo. :csad:

I'm excited for it to some degree, but all this brand new status quo could have been easilly done without retconing continuity and ruining the marriage.
