Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

I saw a good theory that the lady behind Norman in the one shot in the new trailer might be Vanessa Fisk. Didn't notice but she totally has the white streak in her hair, and that's something that character pretty much always has whenever she's in anything.

So is it 10 villains we know are in the game so far? Do we known of 6 costumes so far?

Villains we know:

Kingpin
Norman Osborn
Mr. Negative
Silver Sable
Shocker
Electro
Vulture
Rhino
Scorpion
Taskmaster
Black Cat

Rumored/leaked:

Mysterio
Kraven
Tombstone
Doctor Octopus

I really hope this game doesn't have annoying enemies that don't let you web swing in peace like in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game. I can understand if there is a chapter like that if it makes sense in the story but it shouldn't happen all the time. TASM2 didn't even let you turn it off after finishing the story. The game doesn't let you just relax and web swing around.

Are they revealing the statue today? I thought at some point they were going to at SDCC?

It's a secret until release because presumably the secret main villain is on the bottom, and they encouraged people to not even open it when they first get the game to be surprised when you play instead. It's just some thin ice, that thing's getting out there one way or the other, it's going into everybody's hands who's getting the collector's edition lol.

Ah, I see. I thought they were doing a reveal at SDCC and said, "If you don't want to know don't look." That makes more sense what you described. Thanks for answering my question!

Have they mentioned what, if any, other heroes will pop up? One of the best things about the previous Spider-Man games, especially the Sega Genesis and PS1 games, was how other heroes had small cameos throughout them.

Yeah!

Think they said it's a no on appearances from other heroes, but there are the hints and easter eggs like the buildings. I'm good with that personally. All the comments I saw after E3 where people were thinking Iron Man was showing up at the end to save Spider-Man had me rolling my eyes.

None apparently. Only location easter eggs. Murdock and Nelson's office is in the game apparently. Avengers tower is. Sanctum Santorium. But they said no hero makes an appearance.

Could be lying and there is a secret easter egg or cameo or something but as of now the official answer is none.

Wakandan embassy, too. Still a bummer to me there's no Baxter building.

Well, that disappoints me a little bit. Maybe in the post-game DLCs they've have a few pop up.

Siike Donnelly has a breakdown of the panel with some recorded footage of the roughly first minute of the opening cutscene (no game audio) around 7 minutes in if anybody wants to see some of that:

Has Insomniac mentioned anything about how long the story mode will be? If not, what are your thoughts? I'm going to guess somewhere around 25 hours.

25 would make sense, but I'm hoping closer to the 30 mark. These types of games tend to be pretty fast though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 15 or 20. And then lots of hours of post-story gameplay.

The video has been taken down now, but I did get a chance to skim it. Seems that shot we have of Peter putting on his mask in his room is the intro cutscene. They just changed him to the advanced suit to trick us. Interesting.

Gee I hadn't even thought of it. It sounds kinda meaty though. I'm hoping for 25-30, but if I'm being real it'll probably be closer to 20.

I feel like you're setting yourselves up for a disappointment. I'm expecting storymode to be 10-12 hours, same as with Arkham games.

The Hot Toy is up for pre-order, looks like a beaut.

Notice it says one of the accessories is a Vulture Jammer. Wonder if that's just a fun nod to the way Spidey beat Vulture the first time they met in the comics or if it's more.

I mean I was talking 100% completion more than just story mode because you're probably right, 20+ hours is wishful thinking. Though I think the Arkham games are slightly longer than what you're suggesting and I think this will be too. I would say 15 is probably safe.

The story mode in Arkham Asylum is about 4 hours. Plus another 2-3 to get all the trophies.

4 hours sounds way to short in less you are like crazy crazy good at the game and 2-3 to get all the trophies also sounds way to short. All the Arkham games are about 13-14+ way more to do all the side stuff. On like my first play threw aslyum took like 20 now with like knowing ever thing and being much better it is around 13. Really though I just hope there is something that makes you want to just keep playing. The Arkham games while only around 13 hours the side stuff adds a lot and challenge maps are crazy fun and addictive to play. I just started playing spiderman 2 for the first time in like 9-10 years has I wanted to go threw the game before this game comes out because spiderman 2 is on of the very few great spiderman games and I had not played the game in so long. Right now I am at about 5.5 hours and I am already on chapter 14 of 17. So store is pretty short but the game has a lot to do between like races, pizza missions etc. On my main file I have played about 59 hours and have 72% over all completion and the boss rush mode thing in spiderman 2 was great.

Asylum is the shortest but you are SO wrong on 4 hours. SO WRONG. I dont even know where you are getting this from. Especially since the average speedrun for Arkham Asylum is an hour and a half. There is no way speedrunners can't beat a 4 hour game faster than that. Also howlongtobeat.com which averages how long a game takes to beat lists it at 12 hours. Obviously everyone is different but no one is doing it in 4 without speed running.

I feel like I can complete the main story in that game less than 6 hours for sure (not counting Riddler crap etc) but I have also played story mode in that game probably 30+ times.

But I never do it in one sitting. Usually a couple hours at a time.

I worded part of my post wrong. I think the story mode will probably be around 10 hours with a 100% completion somewhere around 25 hours. Maybe 30. Depends on how difficult some of those challenges will be. I know the races can be a pain sometimes.

Either way, especially for a game like this I'm gonna take my time getting thru it. I'll easily spend a few hours swinging around the city doing random stuff before I even start to tackle the main story.

Here's a 6 hour walkthrough video. The player gets most collectibles, listens to every interview tape, talks to every npc, watches every cutscene.

So I saw shadow of the tomb raider went gold today. The reason I bring this up is because that game comes out just 1 week after this so if that has gone gold this cant be to far of. I am going to get that game to but with this game and with collage it may be a while before I play that game.
