Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Finally getting used to the 'pick n' choose' combat system of gadgets and how to select/make available/aim/use system now. TBF though, tonight has been my longest period of play yet, so that ain't bad for me.

So just saw a few like sale/rumor news. The first one is the rumor because the data has not been officially released. That is that it may have out sold GOW during its first 24 hours in the USA. The one that is official is that the game is the fastest sold game in the UK this year and like double GOW sales there and what makes it being the fastest sold game there even more impressive is that the game it slightly beat is a multiplatform game. So I just saw a few updates/rumors about the games sales. First one is not just a rumor that is in the UK spiderman is now the fastest sold game this year. What is impressive about to is that it like double GOW sales and the game it slightly beat is a multiplatform game meaning more people who like could play it. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/…/2018-09-09-uk-charts-spider…
The 2nd one is a rumor for now dont have the data yet but it may have out sold GOW during its first 24 hours in the USA.

Dude no offense but gotta gotta try and space things out, paragraphs man. Makes it much easier. These long run on massive posts are not good.

Just finished the story. I don't really play enough games to analyze the game play, but here's a couple of thoughts on the plot.

MASSIVE spoilers, just be warned.

Overall I really enjoyed playing through, but I thought there were a few head scratching choices with this version of Spider-Man.
  • I think it's weird that Pete is eight years into being Spider-Man and hadn't yet faced any of his major villains until Otto became Doc Ock. It doesn't seem like Norman is the Goblin in this universe and I'd be surprised if he goes there. Probably means Gwen Stacey doesn't exist either.
  • Aunt May dying at the end was ballsy but I don't know if I liked the decision, especially not in the first game.
  • Harry being in stasis is interesting. Seems like they're setting him up to be Venom, potentially? The game references Eddie Brock, so we'll see.
  • I really enjoyed the MJ sections, they should copy these for Lois Lane segments if they make a Superman game.
  • Miles felt kind of superfluous, which I'm sure will change in the next game.
  • Doc Ock forming the Sinister Six is something I wish they would have waited for, it felt really rushed. I dealt with all of them fairly easily. Did really like that it was the tentacles that made him evil, has it always been that way? I thought that angle was created for Spider-Man 2.
  • Rhino and Scorpion dragging each other during their fight was priceless :funny:

a few things here I noticed.
Peter had already faced a lot of his major villains, we know he faced kingpin, vulture, shocker, rhino, electro, and scorpion. But there are Easter eggs and references to other villains. He has already fought the lizard and mysterio, and even mentions rhino being his second favorite Russian (assuming hes referring to kraven as his "favorite") hes also mentioned chameleon. Not to say that these other villains cant show up in the future though.

Aunt may dying was definitely bold seeing how she usually makes it out alive in most major incarnations. But, this game has topics in manhood, aunt may served as his rock but now we have to see Peter get through the hard times on his own which should be interesting.

And I didnt mind the neural link messing with locks mind, but Peter did already notice that his X-rays showed that his disease was already affecting parts of his mind, his personality and anger. I think the link to the arms just progressed it.

And I really hope when venom shows up it's not harry. I've never been a fan of that.

Looks like we won't have a gwen stacy, but I look forward to the green goblin.

Absolutely loved the
Stan Lee cameo. Had me smiling from ear to ear.
Spoken like he still writes these two.

It's been 31 years since he wedded them together in Shea Stadium. Where does time go?

At least when you die/respawn it’s pretty quick... Arkham Knight felt like you had to wait 2 minutes in between.
30-40 seconds to be precise.

One thing I really like is the lore each backpack contains. Good establishment of history. You start to feel you've been with this Spider-Man since the start.

I found the Ghostbusters firehouse.

I’ve been doing all the side missions (backpacks, Fisk crime bases) and find it forever to level up. Is the only way to get a new costume and upgrades is to just play the main mission?

You definitely level up a lot quicker doing the story stuff.

That stinks. I like just swinging around the city and helping random people and being the neighborhood Spider-Man but would love to use the Homecoming suit.

Really fun game. Really I just want more content, more missions, and this is really one of the first games I enjoyed the collectibles in. Beat the campaign and have a few things to rap up, but I’m pretty much done.

But this game definitely needs more content. I really hope each dlc is full of new stuff to do and new suits.

From what I can tell, post story after you do all crimes, they reset back to just thug crimes. Which is fine, but it'd be nice to have a bit of variety of the foes.

Man this game takes me back to when Marvel cared about videogames, when we had SM2, USM, XML, Hulk UD, MUA, only this is even better than those!

Man, guys. Just beat the main story earlier tonight and I was floored by the climax. The whole thing hit hard and is definitely one of the most emotional Spidey stories I've experienced. I felt the hurt that Peter did and I cried during the other big moment, too. I got real hyped up during that one end credits sequence and creeped out by the other. Love these takes on the characters, they feel fleshed out and like real people you care about and want to keep hanging out in this world. Thankfully I haven't done a lot of the challenge missions and side quests, so I'll be doing those next... but bring on Spider-Man 2!! Bravo to all involved, I hope the new game plus update comes soonish.

Also, some of those boss fights in the final act are really cool with some great character focus and a lot of fun.

Made good progress today, level 17, unlocked a few suits, upgrades, gadgets, collected all backpacks, and now just started doing the Blackcat stakeouts.

I think I am at 95% completion. Once I am done, I think I'll start a new game on Spectacular. But that will be my relax and take it slow playthrough. I will be taking soooo many screenshots of the boss fights. XD

You are really motoring through it

My only issue with the ending is Miles getting powers. The idea of someone else being bitten by a spider and getting the same thing and also a sidekick is just stupid to me. The idea of Peter dying in a future game is even worse. I prefer he just stay one of his normal allies. I liked him fine in this game but I just don't want more Spider-People at all. Swear if they bring Gwen in and have her become one I'll just cringe so hard. Oh well. I'll deal with it as long as they don't kill Peter.

It was very emotional. Had tears in my eyes.

I feel like Marvel and DC respectively just need to let Insomniac and Rocksteady handle their gaming tier from here on out .

At least they won't make Peter's first girlfriend a teenager and dates Miles, that would feel wrong in the eyes of people who identify the character mostly in old school comics.
