Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Just finished the turf war DLC. Not bad. I might have enjoyed it slightly more than the heist dlc.

Less Mary Jane, more gang bases, a boss fight, a fun new spider-bot mission and better alternate suits. You unlock the Mk 1 spider armor after the first mission and I used it for the remainder of the DLC. If memory serves, in the comics, Spider-man made the armor to fight the mob, which made it very fitting here. One of my favorite suits.

The Iron spider armor is pretty nice too, but I'm not really a fan of Manga Spider-man.

First playthrough on amazing kicked my butt, on new game plus spectacular was a welcome challenge. There isn't much difficulty in combat when I just rush through with the most op tactics, but i mostly insist on stringing specific moves which can get a bit tricky on spectacular.

In a game like this I dont appreciate a difficulty level that forces the player to use the cheapest op moves all the time.

Enjoyed the Turf War DLC more than the last for all the reasons Slang mentioned.

Those Screwball stealth missions can be a pain though lol.

After you complete the dlc, can you replay the gang bases in the main game?

I’m probably not going to be able to play it until tomorrow but I’m liking what I’m hearing, especially that there’s a boss fight. I might take my time with it too considering I rushed through The Heist because it came out right before Red Dead Redemption 2.

Just beat Turf war like the store more on the heist but liked Turf war more over all because of the challenge died like 3 times on hamer head fight. Another emotion moment in this dlc. The main game was extremely emotion at the end and now both dlc's have had some emotion behind there to. Still need to find 2 of the secret photos from the main game and do the side stuff with Turf war. Also still got to do a new game + play threw at some point.

Breezed through the DLC today. The story is more fast paced and more combat focused this time around, complete with a boss so it felt more rounded overall. The suits are better picks this time around, the random crimes slightly more interesting than the bomb defusing of the Heist. The challenges are more frustrating though. Photo ops and stealth are a horrible combo. Overall this was a solid DLC, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed with the set overall. A key disappointment is how each DLC is segmented off, so the map feels more empty than enhanced. Once the dust settles, I think I'll look back at "The City That Never Sleeps" as less of a worthwhile expansion, and more of a collection of side plots that would have been better served within the main game.

Is it just me or did they up the Base difficulty with this DLC? Those big goons with the heavy artillery are the worst.

It's good to see Turf Wars getting a better reception than The Heist.I think I'm still going to hold off until next month's entry to decide on how to part with my $$$.

A Future Foundation skin wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

Honestly, after beating it, while I was more satisfied with things like the boss battle, I thought the story mode went by way too quick compared to The Heist. When I got to the final boss battle with Hammerhead, I thought "Oh wow, already?"

Anybody run into any frame rate issues with the Hammerhead base fights? Some points with all those heavy artillery goons on the screen at the same time almost overwhelmed my console (and me lol). Also after that I was swinging around and landed on a roof and a rooftop mob war just spawned out of nowhere while I was standing there and Spidey got blasted off the roof and my console slowed greatly again lol. It was just silence then POP, GOONS, GUNFIRE, LASERS, OVERLOAD.

We'll I bought the season pass and downloaded The Heist and Turf Wars, in the words of Ivan Vanko "good to be back".

If Spider-Cop is going to one of the previous few suits we get in the next DLC, I'm going to be incredibly disappointed.

To each their own, I think it would be hilarious. The only suit besides the Black Suit (which I'm sure they're saving for the sequel) that I really want is the Raimi suit.

Bracing for nerd outrage when Raimi isn't one of the last 3 suits.

But who the hell has been "petitioning" for a Spider-Cop skin??
Nobody, but they're not gonna give us every fan favorite suit in the first game. They have to save some for the sequel. Personally, I was very pleased with the Armored suit and the Iron Spider from the new DLC.

I would’ve been okay with Spider-Cop in the first DLC or even one of the in game suits.

Be kind of lame as one of the third DLC suits, but I’m not sure what to expect out of the next pack. Could be anything.

So, I finally played this, finished the main campaign. I really liked this game. It pretty much lives up to the hype, and what's really incredible is that it leaves you wanting more. I especially loved the way they made you help build Doc Ock, which was funny and terrifying, and there were moments with MJ and Miles that were incredibly awesome. I think they slowed the stealth sections down too much .Eventually both MJ and Miles get tools that make the stealth sections a bit interesting and help develop their characters as well. I think that should have happened earlier for both. The second stealth section for each should have been a treat, but instead it ended up being the third, I think.

I was also surprised with how small the city was in comparison to how big it feels. The packed in detail really helps the city feel expansive. I could do with a few more landmarks so that I didn't need the map to navigate so always, but even thinking that now, I could have used the compass on the minimap, for a lot of that, but I just kept on not noticing it.

Honestly, all I want to do is play as Miles Spidey in the sequel, and if they figure out some kind of multiplayer, I'll be in hog heaven. I think they should be careful about adding more playable characters other than just miles and MJ. I'd like to see MJ's stealth sections kick off with the stunner and lure. I also want to fight the Sinister Six all at once, just dodge mania like crazy looking for openings, playing them off of each other or something. Rhino and Scorpion was nigh undoable, but I'd love to escalate that. At least a three on one, y'know? Or string more than one together like a gauntlet. Also want to see the symbiote storyline and of course, Green Goblin. You could really play with the narrative and have Harry playable but then turn bad, or play as Miles to battle against Symbiote Spidey. So much goodness possible...

Great game, they deserve all the success. I think it apes the Arkham series a bit too much, Spidey is not as much of a stealth character as they've made him out to be here, especially if there are no hostages involved. I think the gadgets pushed a little far, at least in terms of capturing the spidey experience. What they need to master is getting that off the wall 'Maximum Spider' type fight style.

Oh, and the swinging. I hated so much that it was throttled, once you've leveled up it's really rich and fun, but the throttling and the inconsistent momentum carrying make the SM2 web swinging still the point of comparison. With a little more tweaking for skill, I think it could have put SM2 swinging to bed. Alas.

I'm curious about if they will ommit the moving eyes on the Raimi suit, since they don't move in the films

Does every suit in the game utilize the moving lenses? I think there are a few that don't, like Scarlet Spider. If the Raimi suit is ever included be it in this or the sequel, I don't think it would have the moving lenses.

Multiple suits don't have moving eyes. They won't screw with the Raimi suit that way.

I would be less mad about the Raimi suit if there weren't so many obscure or goofy skins in this game.We do not need a Spider-Cop suit. There is no way anyone actually think that it looks cool. It is obviously meant to be a joke suit, which we don't need. If we get a Raimi suit, I won't care what else they add. As for the sequel, I would expect just about every popular suit from this game to be back.
