Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Played this last night after a couple of weeks since I've been heavily invested in RDR2. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, especially since I had the DLC out of the way. Swung around, took some photos, etc.

The Miles and MJ missions, and some of the writing between MJ and Peter in the DLC were the low points for me in this game. There are complaints to be had, but this is stellar for a first outing. Insomniac basically needs brush up some of these complaints and I'm sure we'll get an amazing sequel for the PS5.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the bromance between Ock and Peter went a bit overboard in the final act.

Otto: You look tired Peter.
Peter: Not tired... just hurt.
That was cringey.

When Spider-man was punching Otto in the face while wailing 'You meant so much to me!!' That was cringey.

When Peter walks away from Otto sobbing and says 'Do what you think is best. That's all any of us can do... even when it hurts like hell' and Otto looks up and screams 'PETEEER!' towards the heavens, that was cringey. Even my sister's homosexual friend said that was gay.

Peter had more chemistry with Ock than he did with MJ.

Notes state they fixed some more glitches. They've added info about the next DLC, Turf Wars, which will release on November 20th. They added more stickers to photo mode to include the upcoming DLC with Hammerhead. And a cool feature they added is the ability to remove the HUD completely from the free roam.

Neat. I'm waiting until Chirstmas for the DLC, but it's always cool that they add some stuff even for those that haven't bought it.

Also, apparently, they changed the gadget display in the pause menu so it indicates how much you've upgraded each one.

So heard if you look at the menu where it shows the dlc that now the 2nd dlc has a date of November 20 so we now have a date. I wonder when we will get a trailer and a look at what ever suits on in the dlc. Hopefully amazing spiderman 2 and rami suit on in there.

I preordered the deluxe edition so I'm getting all the DLC as it comes out however I'm probably also going to wait until December to play them. I'm heavily invested in RDR2 at the moment. But I'm still going back to Spider-Man for a change of pace...swing around and fight some crime.

One of the patch notes specifically states Insomniac has addressed the glitches and loading issues that occurred with The Heist.

I known I am late to playing the DLC didn't have time to play any of the DLC un till a few hours ago but I am just wondering am I the only one that had a lot of bugs in the dlc? I have put about 2 hours into the DLC so far and I had 1 time where I was getting no picture after the game loaded and had to close the game out to the ps4 menu and than load the game up again. I had 1 time the part when you like have to chase black cat and she is using some kind of electrisicity thing one you where when it loaded on was like upside down in the air and couldn't see what was going on and than a second later she had gotten away. On that same part I also had a time where it took a long time to load and I didn't even see her like show up just saw I had to catch up to her when it loaded. I think I have already seen like 6 bad bugs in the dlc. Also the part when you get the pizza I never got to see spiderman eat the pizza or heard it before the visule of the game came back up. Also in general it seems like there are a lot more load screens and lot longer load screens in the dlc than in the main game. Disappointing that the dlc seems to be so much more buggy than the main game hope the 2nd dlc is a lot less buggy.

I had glitches too. The time of day changed to day just after the opening cutscene. It only changed to night during missions. The only way to get it corrected was to go back to the main game and change the time of day. Also I got stuck in slow-motion

in the first Screwball side mission during the photobomb thing. Then the game froze when I tried to shoot a web. The only thing I could do was to move the camera.

I finished the DLC today. It was good but too short. I hope the other two will be longer.

Thank you for clarifying. I'm glad you were able to get the avatar and I agree it's a good looking one...better than the spider logo that came with the preorder bonus.

Are you aware of the free spider-man theme in the ps store? You probably are but I thought I'd mention it anyway. It's free for everyone not just platinum trophy.

Oh damn. I didn't know that. I got the theme that comes with the Deluxe Edition and I thought that was it.
It seems it was available for a limited time. I hope it comes back.

I got 2 Spider-man themes. The one that they gave out right before the release, which is Spider-man vs Scorpion & Rhino, then the preorder one with the all red background.

I think this 1.10 patch gave swings after freefall a more accurate and satisfying boost of momentum. Feels pretty good

I'm really hoping they end up giving us Ben Reilly Spider-Man for one of the DLC suits. I think that was really the weakest point of the game for me. There's only a few I use. Or recognize. Could have had a way better selection.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the suit selection for the game but I liked. I don't want to keep using just the same suits that we're accostomed to. I'm all for new stuff and we got plenty of that.

Finished the game and loved it. I plan on eventually playing the DLC but I’m not in any rush. Got plenty of of stuff that I didn’t finish in the main game to keep me busy. Gonna read the art book and then read the novel first though.

I'm dying for more of this game and I'm super excited for the next DLC release! Do you guys think we will get more DLC content once "the City that Never Sleeps" is done? I can't imagine us not getting new content beyond that.

I wonder if they will pay tribute to Stan Lee at some point in the game in a patch as well?

“Turf Wars,” the second chapter in the “City That Never Sleeps” series of downloadable content for Marvel’s Spider-Man, will launch on November 20 for $9.99, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Insomniac Games announced.

In “Turf Wars,” Spider-Man must put an end to the turf war erupting between the Maggia crime family and gang leader Hammerhead before New York becomes its greatest casualty.
