Yeah, I don't want any films being delayed for this.

Me neither. Last thing we need if for the non- CB boards and blogs to foam at the mouth about "we're getting another Spider-Man film but not Black Panther, Capt. Marvel or the InHumans?!"

Best safe scenario would be to book Spidey for Phase 4 whether film or Netflix without stepping on Phase 3 toes.

So, it'd come out around 2018/2019 I'm guessing?

2020-2021 or 2022 (Webhead's 60th) tops. God knows the ideal Phase 4 plan would be not only Spidey and the others but also F4 if Fox let's that slip through their fingers like they did Daredevil the two years before.

I know I'm jumping the gun here .. I have a run of spidey comics where Capt & Spidey are trying to stop an assassination on the president, but then they discover the president was really the red skull all along, I cant remember correctly but I think the skull wanted to fake his death for
some reason? .. anyways a story like that would blow
minds imo lol . just a cool thought :)

Anyone else have anything they want to see one day if this deal actually does happen?

ps- Spidey, Dr. strange, punisher, ghost rider & daredevil team up .. with small cameos by moon knight & blade :) leading to a much darker phase 5 perhaps? :) ha

Some people are suggesting Marvel is already heavily working on or have already finished the script so it could be released in their free spot in 2016. I don't buy it.

Yeah I don't buy 2016 either that just sounds to soon. They would have to start fimling in just a few months to do that.

There wouldn't be a delay. Movie studious exist to make money and the movie and merchandise of Spider-Man is in the top bracket. Plus the film is going to be co-financed so the movie is likely to arrive sooner rather than later. I'd estimate 2017, tops.

Yeah. Some production companies switch film distributors if the producers don't agree with the distributor on release dates, but that won't happen here. Back in 2011, GK Films took Hugo from Sony / Columbia to Paramount because the latter guaranteed a Thanksgiving release spot (which the producers wanted), whereas Sony had it set for December.

Since Sony will supposedly retain distribution, as long as the date doesn't conflict with Marvel's release dates, they have dibs on when they can release it.

Just to be clear...if this deal went through (I can't even believe we are talking about this. This is awesome) does that mean Marvel would have full creative rights over the character under their Marvel Studios umbrella? I would only be happy if this were the case...a Spider-man made by Marvel Studios would just be AMAZING....pun intended.

Man it feels so good to have Spidey going back to Marvel. I've wanted it for 5 years and said that Marvel and Sony would eventually work together against a barrage of Marc Webb supporters going crazy in here. It's happening and those people are hilariously silent now.

Marvel would NEED creative control for it to work. And I think that's the only way Marvel would accept a deal is if they are in charge of the situation--to make sure things line up within their universe, storylines match and match the upcoming plans of future movies with other characters.

Not only do I want them to have full cc but after Sony's mishandling of things I'd rather their cc not have any input.

Almost certainly Sony would have to sign off on major decisions (like revealing secret ID to the world in CW) but that means nothing,

I don't think anyone ever had anything against Spidey returning to Marvel.

Even with people as excited as now, you still manage to find people to bully.

Nice.

Has the email been removed? I'm looking for it and can't find it.

Well, still need that confirmation first. Hate for anyone to get devastated here.

I think that if the leaks hadn't happened, Sony would have pressed on. Now, not so much.

Well yeah, but still, let's not say he's finally back until we get actual confirmation from: Marvel, Sony, or more legitimate websites than unknowns.

It just seems all too likely at this point. I'd be extremely shocked and disappointed if Sony didn't arrange some sort of deal with Marvel to incorporate him into the MCU.

What really did it for me was Pascal and others acknowledging that the deal would be a good move. Maybe they aren't so stubborn after all.

Sounds familiar because I have that as a Tpb called Spider-Man Assassin-Nation from the ASM issues #320-325 with art by Todd McFarlane.

I have my doubts.

Oh I'm excited that I got my wish. The people that sold all their worldly belongings to worship at the altar of Marc Webb just got told their messiah was ousted and I'll relish in that. 2007 onwards was a tough time on here for a Raimi fan. Now the best possible scenario is playing out and it's a great time now to be a Spider-Man fan. I know some people are angry about this. That makes me lol.

You upset?

Would you say that this scenario is a certainty, or something near a certainty, Professor Snape?

I would be shocked if the deal fell through. It's been obvious for about 2 years now that Sony needs to do it for profit sake. ASM2's mediocre box office sealed the deal. So now we are at a point were Sony reboots again alone or reboots with Marvel. ASM3 was doomed when they delayed it 2 more years. ASM3 WILL NOT happen.

Given what Pascal and co. have said in some of the emails, they don't seem at all confident in Spidey's future at their studio.
