Garfield is gone. They aren't going reboot with same actor, that would be way too confusing. Marvel apparently likes Garfield so they will probably give him another role but truth is, Andrew needs to return to indie movie. He's wasting his talent currently.

What's the latest rumor? Anything noteworthy leaked?

We're you here last night? The sight that shall not be named had a report about leaked documents detailing a 75/25 deal with Goddard possibly writing and directing spidey films

I meant that since Marvel won't use the character for a while they could both deal to have Sony finish the ASM trilogy then reboot at Marvel.

From what I've seen though it seems Marvel aren't getting him back 100%. Sony with Feige as producer would handle the solo movies with access to certain MCU characters and Marvel would handle the team movies with Spidey. Whether that deal is the deal or has since been changed or rejected is unknown

Didn't read that. Cheers.

Far as that deal, Marvel would have to be drunk to sign that deal. Two more solo Spidey films by 2019? 100 million in damages? Yeah... no. Tear it up.

Yea that's how everyone one including myself felt at first read, but then we realized how Arad and Tolmach were being downgraded to what us essentially a powerless position as Exectutive producers. And sony would also be helping them by going in on the Civil War budget 25%. It doesn't sound like Sony has much control creatively in the franchise in this deal. My thoughts? I think that the most creative control will finally fall into the hands of the writers and directors (who I really hope to be Drew Goddard)

Is Andrew Garfield really done? Geez, just move on with TASM3 and bring back Andrew Garfield and just deliver a good film.

If Sony could generate a decent profit by doing that, we would be seeing TASM3 in 2016. But the last film barely finished in the black, and even if they keep Garfield the sequel has no Emma Stone and the poor audience response to the sequel to deal with. Sony wouldn't be handing a sizable portion of their premiere franchise over to Marvel if they didn't have to.

The solo franchise films need to be tabled indefinitely to be honest. Nobody wants to see Parker in high school again. Have him as an adult in an ensemble film. Save the high school stuff for television. July 2019 would be the earliest for a solo Spidey film. Why would Marvel invest 25% in 2017 when they have Thor 3 in that slot? Makes zero sense.

I wouldn't say Gwen was a damsel in distress (one of the few defendable aspects of the asm series)
yes, but she was a high school student who was an expert in cross species genetics and an electrical engineer who could remember complex grid specifics. they turned her into a hot savant. she wasn't a damsel in distress but she was still badly written imo. it's just so sad how they wasted those great actors.

The series has many fans. There's no denying that

Hopefully we get a final ASM movie before Marvel gets him. Marvel have a slate and probably won't use him until the start of the next decade, Sony and Marvel should make a deal that let's Sony complete the trilogy in that spare time. It'd be a win for ASM fans and MCU fans would still be getting him after and it gives Andrew the chance to say goodbye to the role.

Win all around

I would kind of like to see that because Garfield desevers to be sm one last time and hopefully it would turn out good and people that say that the GA doesn't care about Garfield lol most people think Garfield is a lot better then tobey but that the movies just don't have good villains righting and pasting.

yeah, no. how can you prove that? there wasn't a universal poll on the subject and it really depends on who you're talking to or which website you're visiting.

I sort of agree with him, in my own personal experience I have yet to meet someone who liked Tobey in the role.

Just on all kinds of different web sits even with things on facebook most people think that Garfield blew tobey out of the ball park. Even the worst reviews for the movie prassed Garfield a lot.

well i've heard it differently. so we can argue all day long, but i'm just trying to say that speaking in the name of general public is a silly way of trying to prove your point. just pointless.

A movie in late 2016/early 2017 and then in 2019 with 2 studios covering the costs. That is easily done.

While it's certainly not a universal consensus, very few people I've come across have preferred Maguire to Garfield. But again, this is just what I've encountered.

There are so many rumors running around guys that its best 2 believe nadda until something is announced

Easily done doesn't mean 'good idea' and ceding creative control and rushing three films into theaters clearly isn't Marvels business strategy.

I like how people act all Marvel movies are just big cameo-fests and stingers for upcoming films. There is one movie that you can say crossed into that territory, Iron Man 2, and I'll take Iron Man 2 over Amazing Spider-Man 1 or 2 any day of the week.

I have to disagree with ya on IM2, I really was underwhelmed by that, as well as IM3 and TDW. I prefer the ASM movies to all three of them, but obviously, I prefer most of the MCU films to most of Sony's Spider-Man movies.
