I would drop to the floor if both of those became a reality. The SM3 extended cut will probably be like the official novelization, which had many key scenes that could have made the movie at least a little bit better. I could imagine getting an extended cut 20-30 years from now if at all. Just think of the Superman II Donner Cut.

The Spider-Man Animated Series… Ugh. You can only buy bootleg copies at conventions or online. It really is a shame.

It really is. This show and Spectacular Spider-Man I feel are by far best Spider-Man cartoons ever. Love this show! Have many fond memories watching this show as a little youngster and collecting all the seemingly 500 figures they had in the toy line!

For SM3 extended...I really hope the bad blood between Raimi and Sony dies at some point and this happens. I think it is a shame a better movie is potentially out there, and we can't see it.

I think there must have been a good 20-30 minutes worth of deleted scenes. Apparently there was some filming in central park with John Jameson bringing back the symbiote.

There was? Man, that would have worked so much better than the lazy way it happened in the movie!

What was going on here?

They are
And Spectacular is really great

A great show heavily inspired by Spider-Man is Batman Beyond, it's so heavily inspired I consider it a Spider-Man show

I can definitely see that. Young guy becomes a hero and wants to make up for his past. I remember watching Batman Beyond every day after school… some great memories, I'll tell you that.

There's more, some of his villains, the way he moves, his girlfriend, father dying on his fault

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot a number of these things because I haven't seen the show in years, but there really are a lot of similarities to Spider-Man. This probably explains why I always liked the show more than Batman: TAS.

I really do hope we get to see a Batman Beyond film someday.

I don't want to see Terry in a movie, unless it's part of the DCAU

I just finished the Secret Wars mini-arc.

Damn you Beyonder, you couldn't let Ben have his atom splitter thing? What a dick! Also, I'm pretty sure he sent Captain America and Red Skull back into a vortex for eternity.

Spider-Man TAS is amazing. I see it as Marvel's answer to BTAS, and it really does compare. IMO Spider-Man TAS and BTAS are the best respective animated series Marvel and DC have given us.

It's subjective. Some people consider Spectacular to be to Spider-man as Batman TAS is to Batman. And with good reason. It's well written and did a wonderful job of fleshing out Peter, his supporting cast and his villains while staying true to the spirit of the source material. It also had pretty phenomenal fight sequences.

Spider-man TAS is good(first Spider-man cartoon I've seen), I feel that it and Spectacular both excel in different areas, but I felt the pacing was so fast that it felt like Peter was the only one that got any actual development. And the action was pretty lacking for the most part. Like his fight with Venom. They barely touched each other. It was mainly a game of chase with Spidey running and Venom chasing and it ended with a scratch on either one of them. Plus the show made Spidey weak when it came to actually taking a hit.

And an interesting bit of trivia. Bruce Timm didn't like Spider-man TAS very much.

I love both TAS and SSM. I get pissed off anytime I think about how short-lived SSM was. Only 2 seasons' worth. That's a crying shame. I know the reasons why it didn't last. And I know this has all been said here before, but I wish they could revive that series.

I grew up, like many here, with TAS, and while that series has a special place in my heart, I gotta say that SSM, overall, is the better product.

I've probably only watched about 10 episodes of USM, and I'm not too impressed with that one. Would much rather see SSM come back to life. :/

It's all Disney's fault. Why couldn't they have left Marvel alone?

I'd be pretty happy if TSSM was continued in comic book form, but I guess even that is too much to ask for. :/

Thanks to Disney Marvel has a great future, so I'm not at all mad at them. Spectacular was an unfornate victim of circumstance.

I actually rewatched all of the animated series about a year ago, first time since the 90's when I was a kid. So much nostalgia, and I really loved seeing some of those episodes again. However, some of the problems with the show became more clear to me, seeing it as an adult instead of a child. The end of the show was really odd, and you could tell they had more ideas in mind, but instead it just kinda ended on a cliffhanger. I also felt like some of the Peter monologues with himself was kinda silly. I get that the show is aimed for kids, but not all kids are dummies. It shouldn't take Peter half the episode to find out who the villain is.

Still, nice with nostalgia. :) Might rewatch X-Men or Batman animated series as well.
