Actually the only thing that ruined USM for me was how short it was and the fact that you had to stinkin chase everything you fought. Chase, fight, chase, fight just got old.

The thing that made that game loose some major points with me was the combat. Other than that it was amazing.

I finally got the game yesterday and so far i have beaten Venom for the first time and I've been helping Luke Cage. Other than that I spent the majority of last night just webslinging and leveling up...I'm up to level 6!

I have this for PS3 and so far it's fun as hell. I love the webslinging but it's still gonna take sometime getting used to the controls since I'm so used to SM2 and 3's control layout. There is definitely some screen tearing quite a bit but not MAJOR tears, just very small ones that don't really distract from the fun.

Level 10 baby! :D You won't believe how many spiders you have to get after that to level up to 11!

I just started playing this game today and so far, not liking the swinging. I really wish they'd bring back the 2 handed swinging. I kept trying to do it here, and of course its simplified.

Also not feeling the voice acting so far. Hate Spidey's voice actor as it doesnt sound like how Peter should sound.

The animations are great though. I love how easily he switches back and forth between costumes. I think that part was implemented well.

so...am I blind...or did they not put in the chrysler building? or the sony building....

I'm blind aren't i?

When you level up enough you actually can swing faster than in Spider-Man 2. Plus you can poll swing vertically AND horizontally. I'm a huge sucker for poll swinging. The only thing 2 has that WoS doesn't is the ability to wall run fast and then jump with from one building to the next. Instead he banks around the corner which is good for combat. You can glide on the sides of wall and still tap the jump button and jump off, or hold down the jump button and hold on for a second and then jump off. I think you have a million more things to do as far as movement in this. Not to mention it is almost pinpoint accuret with the swinging. Spider-Man 2 was a mess in that regard. And you can jump higher in WoS than anyother one before it if you tape the jump button at just the right time. He does that twirly jump thing that gets higher the more momentum you have. It think the swinging in WoS beats the piss out of the swinging in Spider-Man 2.

So I'm loving this game, but I've now been running around the city for a couple of hours trying to find the last 12 of 20 hidden symbiotes that I'm supposed to find...and I can't find ANY!

I'm using the symbiote suit, and I'm running up to practically every pedestrian I see and holding down the left trigger until it does that little secondary symbiote sense thingy...and all I keep finding are tech guys from blocks away! I had no problem with the first 8 (and the 10 from the mission before that), but now I can't even find ONE! :(

Am I doing something wrong? Am I looking in the wrong place??

LOOK FOR ONE OF THE BLUE SHIELD TANKS AND FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THE TANK AND YOU'LL FIND WHAT YOU SEEK, YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT A FEW TIMES!!!;):D:up:

Actually, another thing that WOS doesn't have that SM2 had that I really miss are the acrobatics you could do in the air after jumping off your web line. You could buy and advance little flips and twists to do on your way up or down in the air and it was cool. They didn't have it in USM, SM3, or WOS and I thought it was a lot if fun.

Almost done with this game and I still really like it despites it's shortcomings, so far it gets a 7/10 from me, lost three points from glitches, lack of diverse free roam stuff, and lack of unlockables. Everything else I love or have gotten over.

Though the game has frozen on me twice. And that should just not happen these days IMO. Star Wars TFU did too so I guess that's still a problem with all games today... sigh*

Has anyone beat the game yet? I'm kinda wanting a rundown of how the story ends, how the final boss is, and if it's open for a sequel or not.

It's looking like mid-November for me to play it.:csad:

Level 11. :woot:

Game actually says that there are still 160 spiders in the city, and I have found few of them already. Does anyone know, if there is a level 12?

Uhh... you do know Spider-Man 3 did in fact have them? You had to click on the left trigger twice (360) and then hit one of the buttons. There was a total of 4 tricks, but you could do combinations. You really played the whole game and never did a single air trick?

You know... it's likely that I just forgot. For some reason I just vividly recall the tricks in SM2 more so then being like, "WTF?" when they weren't in USM. I myself didn't really have too many complaints with SM3 the game but still didn't think much of it so it's not really in my memory.

Finished WOS last night on PS3 and only made red suit decisions, so I'll play again and only make black ones. I liked this game but can see why others don't so much. I mean a really good spidey game could be awesome, so it's annoying when the game isn't perfect. Especially when they come close and then rush the game or make little mistakes. If we could take the swinging and free-roam of SM2 and combine it with the combat of WOS, we'd have a pretty awesome game on our hands. Load it with enough bosses and other characters and who wouldn't be happy?

Here's to hoping that the next Spidey game will get the time and creativity the frachise deserves. Though I hope the next one won't be Spider-Man 4 The movie game, I want another cartoon or comic game before that :word:

Is Ghost Rider really in the game or is that just some random idiot posting crap on Wikipedia?

A friend came over and asked me to help him fighting the last boss. While the controls were easy enough to pickup having played SM2, 3 and USM, the level of skill involved is astronomically higher. I didn't even understand how to beat the last boss (of course, he didn't either... I suspect he may not have been paying attention at some crucial earlier juncture).

It was the huge (standing up and fighting you while you're on the roof of a building and it is on the ground) venom creature, with several heads that lunge out at you, the body, such as it is, spewing out symbiote soldiers at will... you could only attack the heads with a well timed web-attack which I never really figured out the timing of.

Story, I know not... but the action was incredible.

To be honest, the last battle was incredibly easy. Kind of a let down. Might be difficult if you haven't mastered the web-strike, but once you know how to do it it's easy.

As far as bosses go, normal Electro was the biggest pain in the ass. Well, at least for me.

Hardest boss battle for me was Symbiote Black Cat. My favourites are battles against normal Wolverine and normal Vulture.

Symbiote Black Cat was really annoying because she seemed to have so much health. I wish I would've discovered Symbiote Spidey's Beatdown special much sooner. That made some boss fights really short. Symbiote Wolverine was a piece of cake after I discovered the move.

Yeah, the beat down is easily one of the best moves. It never gets old.

By a miracle today...(credit card) I picked up the game. Not smart? Probably, but I've been dying to play it.

So I picked it up at 3, and as of right now, I'm getting glider information for Moon Knight. How far til the symbiotes take over?? Cause it feels like alot like SM3 right now. But it's really fun, the button mashing combat is ok, but I'm having fun overall. I was on the Dark trail, but I guess I redeemed myself? Somehow.

Anyway, loving it so far. Had to take a break though. My hands are hurting.:csad:

Anyone pick and play the Wii version yet? I have the PS3 version but am curious to the differences as I also have a Wii and might want to play that version too. So... anyone have it and wanna say something? Like how the combat and swinging are or the number of boss fights and with which characters?

Any review would be appreciated.

It was unblockable, took care of everyone and everything and was damn fun to watch.
