Splinter Cell: ConViction

While I'd rather they take their time to get it right, all these delays are troubling.

I´m glad it got released
Why?
Believe it or not, i still have to play Splinter Cell...all 4 of them :o

Haha, I hope you can customize your multiplayer/co-op character to look like crazy hobo Sam Fisher.

Haha, wait so now Hobo Fisher is "in"? Not but a year ago you all were yelling that hobo fisher should just disappear...which he did.

I was more concerned with the piece of **** game he looked to be starring in disappearing, which I'm glad it did. Hobo Fisher himself, though, I never had that big an issue with. It was jarring to see at first but I wouldn't have minded all that much if we got Hobo Fisher. Who else to pull off a stealth mission than a hobo with skill.

I mean, look at this guy:

That's a hobo with a mission. That's a hobo with a purpose. Could've been interesting

I was kidding in the sense of upgrading to a buy, though. Hobo Fisher or not, it would have still been a rent

so uh, when is the release date still scheduled?

Yea April as of now, but i wouldnt put it pass Ubisoft to delay this title...yet again.

I dunno...the rumor I had heard was that Hobo Sam never left.

Just minimized. I remember when the UPLAY system was kicked off with the release of Assassin's Creed 2, there were UPLAY achievements previewed for ConViction...and I saw Hobo Sam in atleast two of them. I think it's been changed since then.

But, I remember reading a blurb somewhere that Hobo Sam might be at the start of the game...maybe when we find Sam hiding out in some remote villa somewhere before he stumbles acorss the intel that brings him back to snapping necks, and he gets back into his black ops frame of mind by getting his spiky hair and six o'clock shadow back.

Atleast, if they're going to go with continuity it makes sense to go that route. Sam just wanted out of that world completely by the end of Double Agent. He wanted to be left alone.

Not really.

I think he got fed up with all the bureaucracy and the sacrifices constantly being asked of him. Sarah's death was the reason he ended up becoming a Double Agent.

I think the way things went down, and all the pretty ****ed up stuff that happened, at the end of Double Agent was the reason he wanted out. He just got tired of being some puppet, I think.

And really in DA, there was no whiff whatsoever that Sarah's death was at all government related.

Yea pretty much. As Victor Coste put it, they just asked him to make one sacrifice too many. They asked him to be this double agent, which he wasnt fond of to start with, then once he did some despicable things for these same ppl, they wanted him to be the "fall guy" so to speak. He said the hell with that, im just done. Now he's being dragged back into the world he just escaped from because he found out his daughters death might not have been an accident and that the people he used to work for might have the answers he's looking for. All of that is why im so excited for this title. People have always complained that the SC series didnt have a very compelling story, well i think thats going to completely change after this game.

Yeah, for all it's faults I still think that Double Agent was the best story out of the series because it got personal. There were some cool twists and turns too.

The bodies seemed to just mount one after another too. Depending on how you played Double Agent, there could have been alot of blood on Sam's hands that weren't your clear cut terrorist from the previous games.

Like you said Pat, ConViction does look like it will have the better story, too. The story is really looking like it could be really something.

This is truly cause for celebration! :awesome:
