Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Better on Xbox or 360?

Love that level.

Blowing up the vault...was awesome.

I mean, we basically...get to rob a bank. Sorta.

The Lighthouse is a favorite of mine as well. Breaking into the UN Heaquarters was awesome.

Sneaking into the FBI headquarters, and the terrorist camp in the first one were great. And the airport at the end of PT was special.

Lots of great levels.

I never liked Pandora Tomorrow....the trendy camo they gave you just rubbed me the wrong way...

Levels Id like to see:

-A house or small mansion

-A mall

-A sports arena...something like having to sneak across rafters and eavesdrop on a conversation in a luxury box

No more freighter ships....had those two games in a row

hah, i was actually thinking more freighter ships, especially with all this pirate nonsense going on around the world. I wouldn't mind a level where Fisher has to sneak aboard to rescue someone being held hostage by pirates, even tho you kinda did that in CT.

I just want another SC game...

This delay crap is not cool....I have CT and DA to keep me company though....

and more zip lines please....

Yep with you on that one.

Do you play CT through Xbox Live at all? Itd be kinda cool to do some of those co-op missions again.

Dude, I have to hit you up on those co-op missions. I just need to renew my damn LIVE Gold members...sigh.

I'm a little tired of the freighter missions. I think there's been one in three games in a row or something. The Okhotsk level still haunts me to high hell.

They do need to get back to basics, I think. Just bring us more of the Chaos Theory...Splinter Cell 1 gameplay. I like alot of the things they did in the DA XBOX version, like being able to wirelessly hack computers...that was pretty sweet.

But, getting us across lines where we're just sneaking around is where it's at. Even if Sam is now a rouge agent, they should still try and pull it off.

Which, I think, we can assume is happening...since ConViction has completely dropped off the radar.

Wasn't the game supposed to be out by now? I mean, even it's second or third delay was supposed to be earlier than now, I think.

Whoa...I just read a post on the Splinter Cell forums (on ubisoft.com) that really shook me backward. Pretty simple comment too.

"Two years ago, Assassin's Creed was being previewed. We also got Splinter Cell ConViction trailer.

Now, Assassin's Creed 2 is being previewed and details are coming out on the sequel.

We still only have the one trailer of Splinter Cell ConViction."

****. I mean, think about it...Assassin's Creed 1 AND 2...could be developed, previewed, hyped, and released...before we so much as even play a demo of ConViction.

wow.

the wireless hacking was in CT but only with certain computers....some you had to manually get to to access

Yea man, im pretty sure they completely scrapped what ever it was that they had and have started from scratch. I dont know what to think.

That's the rumor.

And the only thing that makes sense.

That they threw away everything they had, and began building a new game more alike CT.

Which, if true...I think, could be worth the wait.

Splinter Cell games, from 1 to DA, hold up amazingly well to age as well. I think it's the use of shadows. But, CT is still a beautiful game even by today's standards.

I still dislike Pandora Tomorrow....the story is as good as the others but the mechanincs seem weird to me

The only mission I liked from Pandora Tomorrow was the one on the train.

That one was nice.

I remember the ending to PT, and DA for the 360...being sudden and not well done.

The exterior levels, were hit or miss too.

I hated how in DA for the Xbox you have to start with ghetto equipment because you are undercover....can't be walking in there with NSA level goodies....********....even your night vision is sketchy

I've still not finished the 360 version of Double Agent because of the sound glitching out on the Ohkostk mission, but the Xbox version wasn't that much better.

Especially since I liked the challenge of trying to beat a mission with minimal enemy contact, and there were some missions where you no choice but the opposite of that.

Perhaps this delay with the next Splinter Cell game would get the developers to look at what people love about the Splinter Cell series and focus on that. But that's asking too much from any business.

I think in the XBOX version, it's possible to go through most levels without detection.

On the 360, not so much. You can still get 100% score if you just knock out guards, instead of getting them in a choke hold and interrogating them or killing them.

The Ohtosk or whatever it's called...was the worst level ever made, ever.

I'm not talking about detection. I'm talking leaving the enemies alone, and still complete the levels.

It was tough to do in the first Splinter Cell, but rewarding. Same with the add-on levels. I was able to do the same in Pandora Tomorrow, until the last mission where you had to kill the guys. Sloppy work right there. Chaos Theory was tougher, but was easy to ace with the KO to carry bug. Some might consider that cheating, but is it really if they designed it that way? Then the Bath House level.

With Double Agent, no. You had to either kill or KO the guys. The "trust meter" was the same gimmick from that horrible game The Thing.

As for the 360 version of the Ohkostk level, I loved it until I got to the boat and had to either KO or kill the guards. After the third or fourth KO, the sound glitches out and I can no longer hear where the guards are, nor can I hear any information I might receive from those I'm working for or from Lambert. The radar is useful only if I stand still, but even then I like being able to hear where they're at. Even though Sam is in his 50's, they're not going to send him out on missions if he's deaf. I check the connection from my 360 to the TV. Works fine. I try other games. No problem with them. I pop in a CD. No problem there. I pop in a DVD. No problem there. The only problem happens with Double Agent on that mission.

Waste of money, even if I did get it used. Now Breakdown has a buddy to gather dust with.

That ****ing boat still haunts me.

The Shangai level was nice.

I'm going to go play Chaos Theory to ease my pain.

Shanghai imo was awesome ... a perfect blend of classic moving around in the shadows and 360 graphics. Standing on top of the tower looking down is one of the most mind-blowing moments I have had playing any game, ever.

Last week I started the original again and plan on working my way through all of them ... I purchased DA for the X-box and will finish by playing that for the first time.

oh lord, this game was too difficult for me. maybe i just suck, but i had a lot of troubles with it.

the key element with Splinter Cell games is don't rush....which goes against a lot of video game rules....don't rush....take your time

I'm shocked this series does as well as it does in America. With more than half of gamers riddled with ADD, i cant see how they could ever get through these titles.
