The Dark Knight Spoilers and Speculation

bumping this thread.

guys please do try to keep this up to date with both the confirmed spoilers and the speculations. this thread is so helpful specially for the folks who arent around here everyday or who have fallen out of the loop and are trying to catch up (like me :O)

One of the earlier scenes in the film involves the Scarecrow and other gangs. The bat mobile bursts through the wall but Batman isn't in it. Bats then comes down the middle of the parking garage and lands on top of Scarecrows van.
Best thing ever!

You've seen it?

No. But you can picture that sweet scene.

Scarecrow: Dude. He ain't in that machine.

Batman, adorning the classic costume, breaks through the ceiling wall, swooping down atop the van. :ninja:

Maybe, maybe not. I thought the same of Venom from all the reports and the whole plotline was a big letdown.

My point is, its hard to say "best thing ever!" when you have yet to see it.

the fight scene inside the parking garage goes down something like this.

there's a meeting between Scarecrow, his men and the Chechen's gang.
A few of the fake Batmen show up trying to foil the drug deal and are captured.
Then the Tumbler comes crashing through the wall and in the diversion Batman gains the upper hand and frees the vigilantes, but then the bad guys turn the dogs loose on Batman and they try to escape the parking garage in the van while Batman is dealing with the dogs.
While they are going down the spiral ramp Batman dispatches the dogs and then glides down the center of the spiral ramp and lands on top of a van.

at least that's what it looks like from all the descriptions and pics we've seen.

Excellent detective work.

I'm speculating something huge but here it goes.

what if Nolan intergated Scarecrow in TDK for one reason :

what if he's working at one point with joker using his neurotoxin we all saw in BB and that through that we'd be able to relish a true joker moment where we'd be able to see the joker through a hallucinating victim's eyes with evil deformed and elongated smile and all ???

i think this could be a really cool tidbit for us viewers.

We do see the Joker under influence of the toxin, this has been confirmed.
Cant wait. :woot:

Awesome!!!!

Slightly off topic: in the supposed batman movie that never was Batman Triumphant (after batman and robin, ment to be darker like the first 2, but scrapped) the joker would appear as a result of the toxin.

The scenes with the scarecrow when people under the influence of toxin looked brilliant, the scene with the horse was awesomely awesome, will it be the joker well he was being experimented on in arkham asylum? or after words?

Turlte might update this, but the most important piece of new information is THIS:

Well, I'm sure they were used in filming, but when I saw them they were just on the prop cart. There were several cards flipped face down, with knives through them and the dried blood on each. That card was the only one facing up. I'm sure you've seen Rory Bat's pics of the batman hanging at the location at 330 N Wabash. That was the same day of shooting. Also on the prop cart is the chest piece that fake batman wore, covered in blood and with a knife stabbed in it. Brian Douglas perhaps? I'd say he meets a bad end.

-- This gives more ground to the fact that the fake Batman that is hanged is a real person NOT a dummy like some have suggested...

I mean the fake batman hits the window just as Dent promises 6 more years crime free - the irony is that it is obvioously a SERIOUS crime right then.... it's gonna be a sort o dark joke -- if it was a doll this whole opportunity is lost.

Next Litenut Gordon has to investigate it... he deals mostly with homocide, not practical jokes - beat cops would handle that....

Third their will be a card stabbed to the fake batman that reads WILL THE REAL BATMAN PLEASE STAND UP...

---this all seems very clear now based on the evidence we have.

definitely. joker is getting fed up with the fake batmen. god, this movie sounds so f-ckin cool.

Got the PM , consider it updated. It being an actual person (in the context of the film) always made the most sense to me.

Interesting !:cwink:

how many sensible people really thought it was a dummy anyway?

the vocal minority, beating up on what for most people is a forgone conclusion. as it goes :whatever:

seriously there were about 6 of us who insisted it was a body and everyone else said it was supposed to be a dummy..

It may have been a dummy, like they used a dummy instead of a real person so nobody would get hurt for filming, but i think its supposed to represent a real person in the movie, well with a little movie magic and editing, but what do i know?
