EA Star Wars: Battlefront II

Everything that comes in overwatch's loot boxes is cosmetic. That's the difference. This **** battlefront directly affects game play. At the very least, they need to remove the crafting. At most, everything needs to be cosmetic.

yes that's why I said it remains to be seen what other's will do to keep thing's fair. again as I said I'm not protecting them and most will do some thing different. and it remains to be seen how they will still keep it fair or how they make their own system that way . injustice 2 did what over watch did and marvel heroes is seemingly doing the same with costumes where lock box's are involved.

but as always every industry there always some of them that do some different while doing something similar. in that they are doing something similar but not fully/ absolutely the same thing. if they can't keep it fair they will be in trouble for it .

And the series will ether die or they will have to change things before that happens.

Here's the thing, in it's current form, there's no way to really balance that. It's designed with exploitation in mind. They should have just copied Overwatch outright. I don't need EAs exploitive spin on that.

under stood and I'm sure it'll back fire on them . well hopefully it does . sadly there are always people from the fan base's that will go along with it. but there should be some back lash regardless. there are other in the igames ndustry that will also do some different.

But they aren't trying to cheat the customer un like what ea might be doing . if there's a ways to have a system where you only get gear program wise for the level your at buying in store and everyone get the same thing be it buyable or earned other will try to do so.

Right now there isn't way to claim some one can look at the lock box in store and know that's gonna be the highest stats of the gear they will get buyable . if that's the problem, they should make a program where all gear for each player level should be the same.

if they can't make program that stop such a problem where some will more of an advantage then it should be there from the jump and they should go for the cosmetic store model the other's are doing.

If you drop 500 bucks on the game, chances are you are going to get something good.

I just want a DLC that includes characters from TCW/Rebels. Ahsoka, Rex, Hera, Thrawn. Gimme now.

Yes. This. Completely this. My #1 would be Sabine, followed by Rex and Cad.

I know it won't happen but I'd love Aphra and her killer droids.

They've already got Dee Bradley Baker and Witwer, so surely that shows some kind of awareness of the animated stuff.

Yeah, and it kills me they put guys like Bossk in, instead. He played well and all, but come on. :funny:

I'd have hoped that all of the heroes from both
the prequels and sequels would be in. I just want
this game to be amazingly epic, and it's as if they're
already getting off on the wrong foot already.

Even if it's DLC, there needs to be more prequel heroes.

Give me 5 prequel DLC heroes that wouldn't use the Force or lightsabers that aren't in the game, but should be.

Because they aren't going to make a game that is primarily a FPS full of Force Users. And they already have all the big ones outside of Obi-Wan. They got Luke, Vader, Rey, Kylo, Yoda, Maul, and the Emperor. They also have Grievous, who uses lightsabers.

Limited characters? I just don't want a bunch of random Force users, who do variations of the same thing. Why would I want that? :funny:

There are plenty of other characters to use then a bunch of boring prequel Jedi whose skill set is swing lightsaber and push.

What difference does it make? In order to differentiate the non-force users, they had to give them random special abilities too, other than Boba Fett anyway. I don't remember Han Solo going around shoulder tackling Stormtroopers in the movies, or Chewbacca pounding the ground with his arms, and I don't remember Orson Krennic taking a force field-creating, gas-dispensing droid everywhere he went. They could just as easily give the Jedi and Sith characters their own unique abilities since they don't have to be based on anything from the movies.

Well one, they have to stay in canon. Shoulder blocks don't break canon. Using force fields don't break canon. Same with droids. They aren't going to "make up" Force abilities. They aren't allowed. Anything they do will be grounded in what we have seen in the canon, mostly the movies.

Having 10 characters do a variation of push, jump forward lightsaber swing and mind tricks doesn't sound like a great idea for variety. So you make each Force character as unique as possible. After Luke, Vader, Rey, Kylo, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Sheev, Maul and Grievous, what else are you looking for? Ahsoka would work, she has two lightsabers. That is unique. But after that, what?

Also there is a big difference in gameplay. What are you going to have, 20 lightsaber users?

It's why I hope they lean into the animated stuff. Rex, Hera, Sabine, Thrawn, Cad Bane, Kalani etc are all great characters that aren't variations on the Force weilders and they could all feasibly have unique abilities.

I completely agree. I want Rex really badly. Both him and Sabine with their dual blasters could offer a lot of fun.

I'd love to play as Kanan and Rex. Zeb could also be interesting because he has a different kinda weapon and I'd love to see how he looks in the more realistic style.

The open beta for Star Wars Battlefront II will begin on October 6 and run through October 9, Electronic Arts announced. Users who pre-order the game will get access to the beta two days early on October 4.
Here’s what’s included in the beta, via the PlayStation Blog:
Galactic Assault on Naboo

  • Join the Separatist droid army or the Republic Clones on the streets of Theed in massive 40 player multiplayer melees.
  • Choose from four distinct trooper classes:
    • Assault troopers are classic flankers, pushing the line forward and advancing the front.
    • Heavy troopers use their high-powered weapons and personal body shields to take ground and hold it.
    • Officers power up their teammates with buffs and deploy remote weapons to support their allies.
    • Specialists lay traps and snipe from a distance.
  • Control beloved Star Wars heroes, pilot prequel-era vehicles, and more.
Multiplayer Starfighter Assault
We’re not sharing all the details around this yet, but we can tell you that you’ll be able to take part in an epic starfighter assault set during the original trilogy era, piloting an assortment of Star Wars’ greatest ships in an objective-based, multi-stage battle. You’ll be learning much more about starfighters in Star Wars Battlefront II at Gamescom.
Star Wars Battleront II is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17.

Disney has announced today a brand new Star Wars novel that will serve as a prequel to EA's upcoming shooter Star Wars Battlefront II.

As you're probably aware by now, Battlefront II will introduce Inferno Squad, the Empire’s extraordinary special operations team sent to complete missions that no one else can. The campaign will seemingly center on this new Inferno Squad -- specifically Iden Versio, a young and brave Imperial officer and natural leader. It will follow the Inferno Squad as they journey across the galaxy on a quest to restore order and burn the Rebellion to the ground following the destruction of the Death Star.
But before we get to that, Disney is releasing a novel that will provide a bit of context and background for Iden Versio and the Inferno Squad.
Battlefront II: Inferno Squad is a new novel from Christie Golden. It’s a prequel to the Battlefront II game, set immediately after the events of Rogue One and A New Hope. According to Lucasfilm:
“…the book follows the Empire’s response to the destruction of their vaunted battle station. Determined to thwart all threats, Inferno Squad, featuring some of the best Imperial soldiers, goes on a mission to infiltrate and eliminate the Partisans — the rebel faction once led by the legendary Saw Gerrera.”
Battlefront II: Inferno Squad arrives on July 25th, and is now available for pre-order. Star Wars Battlefront II, meanwhile, is set for release on November 17, 2017.
