Good to see you back man. I love this panel!

These are two incredible pieces of art.
Thanks Hunter  It's good to be back hanging here. Me too, it looks awesome! Boba doing what he does best :woot:

I think it will jump well beyond that personally, so your stories should remain in tact.

I'll join the Lady and see if we can get this done, as to paraphrase another classic "We're gonna need a bigger thread!"
Yeah, those stories might not be affected. They might even be adapted.

That's awesome that we now have a SW section, thanks mods that did this.

I think Lucas is thinking about the best custodians for his legacy and don't forget the stock shares will be worth a huge chunk more as time goes on.
I agree, he wasn't doing this for more money. It's not like he needs it lol. He just wanted to make sure that SW was in good hands, and will still be around after him, and this deal ensures that.
You, Erzengel, & Fives along with everyone else who kept posting all those EU art bent the force into bringing us this great day. ;)

More EU art and we'll keep getting more Star Wars goodies. :hehe:
I knew Lucas was looking at our art postings, and got an itch up his leg to make sure new SW movies be made. The Force demands it! lol.

Hey now a new movie getting made means a ton of new SW art shall be coming :woot:

I just hope that they keep the Star Wars feel (as in originals lol) and bring in a talented writer and director for it. I still hold Irvin Kerschner and Lawrence Kasdan as the key men in making Empire the best film in the franchise. If they can get guys who are capable of bettering them and that film, happy bloody days indeedy :D

They don't have Star Wars stuff at DisneyWorld? They've had it at DisneyLand for years.

I'm honestly not sure. I haven't been there since I was 10. But I live in Georgia so I figure a DW trip is probably in our future. I don't know that they don't have Star Wars stuff there now, but with this deal, they certainly should by the time I take my daughter down there in 3 or 4 years.

Irvin Kerschner did such a good job on that film, there were so many shots that alone are just so Iconic.

I hate when George calls Empire and Jedi his movies because he thought of the idea of them, but he didn't even think of making Darth Vader Lukes father, Kasdan did.

Anyway I'm hoping they will too. If not I don't think they'll make much money, Star Wars isn't the cash cow it once was. The clone wars cartoon movie release was a bit underwhelming and the Phantom Menace Rerelease was rather small as well.

That's definitely not true. RotS did very very well, despite following two universally panned movies. The re-release also did fine. And what did you expect with the Clone Wars movie? It was a kiddie cartoon. SW is very much a cash cow and yesterday's news prove that people still care, and then some.

I have to agree. My 6-year-old nephew had a Star Wars birthday party about a month ago. Episode 1 was released 35 years ago, and kids are still dressing up as Luke Skywalker and bashing Darth Vader helmet-pinatas with inflatable Lightsabers (which was actually pretty cool).

Episode 7...interesting where they could take it. They did Hamill back!

Are kids even aware of who Luke Skywalker is?:woot: I remember thinking last year how I grew up and Star Wars WAS Luke Skywalker and friends. Now, other than older fans, he seems to just be an afterthought.

Episode 7 by Disney huh... I'm going to take a wait and see approach on this . But I hope this means they'll continue Luke Skywalker's story, I'd love to see them do Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy

I haven't had interest in anything Star Wars-related for a long time... but this gives me hope since Lucas is out of the picture, finally. What do you think? Will they recast the original roles? Or use new characters altogether?

I think they could recast like they did with Star Trek, and if the writing is good enough, it could be epic. Some ideas...

Luke Skywalker: Michael Pitt
Han Solo: Jason O'Mara
Princess Leia: Emily Blunt
Lando Calrissian: Terrance Howard
Obi-Wan (ghost): Gary Oldman

Disney isn't stupid. They know the OT is the most popular of the two trilogies.

And Clone Wars is FAR from kiddy. Last time I checked...kids cartoons didn't have tons of deaths and adult plot subjects.

They have Star Wars stuff at Disney's Hollywood Studios (the old Disney-MGM Studios). The famous Star Tours ride (which was closed and updated to a new version a couple of years ago) is one of the main attractions at the park.

i think they are re-opening Star Tours this spring.

They're not doing the Thrawn trilogy. It's a new story.

Disney will end the Clone Wars.bank on it.

The question Is will episode 7 recast characters and be close after Return of the Jedi or will
they go In far future with entirely new characers.

Also Disney buying Lucsfilm means Indiana Jones 5 Is dead.I don't see Steven Spielberg doing film at Disney. So Inless they do Indy prequel set pre 1935 Disney If they do anything with Indy are most likely to reboot.

Disney logo wasn't in front of Avengers, just Paramount and Marvel Studios.

Then i doubt it will be in front of star wars. Could be cool. Black screen, lucasfilm logo shimmers onto screen, "a long time ago..." boom star wars fanfare. Im ok with the loss of the fox fanfare.

Wasn't that because of Paramount still having some kind of deal where their logo would play in front of Marvel movies until Iron Man 3? Thor:TDW will supposedly be the first film with the Paramount logo, so they might have the Disney logo instead. I can't see Disney not putting the logo in front of Episode 7. Owning Lucasfilm is a crowning achievement for them and they'll be proud of Star Wars.
