Will this effect Detours? Was that going to be a CN show? I could see that on the XD channel.

I think...hope instead of canceling CW they would move it to one of their channels. I think Disney would want to milk it, plus, it is a popular show. Like Detours, I think CW would fair well on XD. Then we could have a SW block

George Lucas always had planned to make nine films. The new episode takes place, chronologically, after 1983's Return of the Jedi. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that one possibility being considered is an Avengers-style movie universe with not only Lucas' planned final trio of films but offshoot movies focusing on individual characters.

I don't see how the movies wouldn't be apart of a connected SW Universe like the MCU. It's not like they're going to be using alternate universes for every movie.

My kids told me Lucas sold to Disney and they're making more Star Wars films I didn't believe them!

Because its on Cartoon Network. Disney has no interest in helping one of their rivals, they would rather have a Star Wars show on one of their channels, instead of the Cartoon Network. When Disney bought Marvel, that deal ultimately put the kibosh on Spectacular Spider-Man, because Disney didn't want to pay Sony for a Spider-Man cartoon, when they could make one themselves.

Exactly what I thought. Here's hoping they let the Clone Wars finish on their terms.

I'd like to see it explore the time after Order 66 with the new Empire and Jedi going into hiding...

exactly...They didnt want to pay Sony, the animation team. And they made their own Spiderman series.

The Clone Wars was created by Lucas Animation. It's all in house.

Edit; All 3 new Star Wars movies will be in 3D so that counts out Nolan.

Really, I'd eat my ****ing hat if he took this on. I've no doubt that he's one of the names being bandied about by the Disney suits. There is just zero chance of him accepting it if offered.

Lindelof on the other hand...
I think his character stuff is fine but his writing is sequel/episode bait which questions more than it answers (Lost/Prometheus).

So if it's true I'm 50/50 on the news.
