I like Nolan a lot, but I don't want him on Star Wars, I think he's all wrong for it and to me would not make something light years ahead of anything because it's simply not his wheelhouse.

There would be no Lightsabers or Force Powers & no non human characters with Christopher Nolan as the Director

I respectfully disagree. I think the core of Star Wars is good story, and characters, which is something the prequels lacked completely IMO. And even if the fight choreography was bad (which it probably would not be the best under Nolan) still I think were attain more respect. But I guess we are speaking in theory. But still I think he would do better with the core story and characters. Visuals I think he may have lots of problems with that. His visual style I don't know how far he could stretch it from what he usually does.

"What if Jedi's were real?" :D ;)

Cool, I have no issue with disagreeing, to me Star Wars has a certain feel, a tone and a magic that is not compatible with Nolan's cold approach to cinema. I love his Batman trilogy and he was perfect for the character, I think he is simply not suited to Star Wars. Even taking out the conflict that I love the PT and you don't, I still would say not Nolan, I am with you on Brad Bird though, he for me is the ultimate choice.

Agreed. I have no problem with those that love the PT let me be clear on that, I don't understand why but I see it this way.: The more stuff you can love the merrier. Who am I to want to take that away from someone eh?

I think Nolan's style would not fit as well I agree. I think Star Wars has a visual flair and something more that he may struggle with. Who knows maybe he would surprise us all, but we may never know. I think Bird should be a lock. He was born in my home town....maybe I can ask him if I can work with him. Woot! ;)

I think the director for Episode 7 is gonna come out of left field and surprise us. Just a hunch.

I wonder if they will go the Marvel route and hire random unexpected directors?

Brad Bird would be an awesome choice, I love his story telling and if he can get Cruise to give a half decent performance in MI:4 he can get good performances out of anyone.

That's my expectation and I'd be surprised if they went with someone super obvious. I think they'll get someone talented that'll do a great job, I just think it'll be someone no one will suspect.

Jackson's films are bloated and lose focus of their narrative thread. Not what we need for Star Wars at all.

Sure, here and there. But there's plenty more under his belt besides The Return of The King and King Kong. Jackson has a good eye for both action and the epic scope required. Obviously that's not all that's needed for a great SW film, but with those two attributes alone he's already two steps ahead of most Hollywood directors.

That would be great, it worked really good for Marvel. I mean Kenneth Branagh directing Thor?! Who woulda thunk it!

In hindsight Branagh wasnt as out there as who theyve got working on Phase 2. The guy doing Thor 2 is a great choice, but the rest are pretty much wtf lol.

I don't think Shane Black is too out there...

Yeah your right. Let me be more specific, Anthony and Joe Russo for Captain America 2. Thats wtf.

Well, yeah, there's a reason I didn't bring those two up. :oldrazz:

I'm still very curious to see exactly why they, above all the other candidates, were chosen... what, exactly, will they be bringing to the table here? I mean, it's not like Joss, where even the TV he was doing had a grand scope to it. These guys mainly do sitcoms.

And You, Me, and Dupree was garbage. They must have had one hell of a pitch so i like you wanna know what they offered to get Marvel to hire them.

Joe Johnston for director or hell...

If they can get him back into writer's chair as well - Laurence Kasdan.

F**k Johnston. I hope he never gets anywhere near this. There's kiddy stuff and there's Joe Johnston.

Imho Captain America and Rocketeer are good movies (not that I want him for Star Wars).

In mine he's only made one and a half watchable movie, and that's Jumanji and the first half of Captain America (and, dare I say, I liked it in spite of him).

Remember when Joe Johnston said he wanted to make a Boba Fett movie? Maybe he knew it was a possibility at the time when he said it, he just wanted to get George's attention that he was interested in making it.

I agree that there is a MASSIVE drop in quality as soon as Rodgers becomes Cap.

For me the ending is the problem! He could of landed the plane in the Arctic instead of crashing it. Was the bombs to be dropped in some preprogrammed way, or do they drop when a lever or button is pushed? If it is the latter why didn't he just land the plane somewhere? Also the power source (The Cube) was no longer on the plane to power the bombs so they'd go off. Here's a bigger mind F, one of the bombs wasn't even explosive when Steve crashed it in back of the hangar bay. He even dropped one of the bombs with one of the henchmen on it. How did not know they were not explosive, did he just take a risk that they were not? Hey lets just crash it into the ship in the rear hangar bay, lets take that risk! How did he not know they were not explosive?!!! Hey Steve you are about to crash one of the bombs into the ship.....thank god it didn't explode.....What?!!!
