Star Wars - - - Part 12

Is Boba known for killing Jedi in the EU? I've seen a few fan art recently like the one Hulk posted that shows his lightsaber trophies.

Not sure about Boba Fett specifically but in the days of the Old Republic the Mandalorians were infamous for being one of the few groups of warriors that could take on the Jedi and kill them (well, some of them). As such a fight between Boba Fett and a Jedi would maybe be even, which is probably why in the prequels Lucas had Jango Fett give Obi-Wan such a hard time.

Of course, they did depend on technology:

^^^ Oh how I'd love to see a sequence similar to that in the new trilogy!

That actually reminded me of that Mandalorian war you wanted to see the and told me about the other day.

Someone also brought up the idea of a more staunch and more crusader like Jedi theology coming into place in the VII section. I would imagine they'd be more militarized in their appearance.

Seeing that Jedi/Mandalorian war would be quite the sight. The more I think about the idea the more it gels with me.

I thought Jurassic Park III was way better Jurassic Park II. imo

Definitely, it helps to have Sam Neill in it. :D

Same here. I like October Sky as well. Captain America was mediocre at best.

Mediocre? :( I've loved very MS film so far including Cap, IM2 and TIH. But yeah October Sky is a good movie, I just got tired of watching it in school hehe.

I love this. Almost like a religious war between the Mandalorians and the Jedi.

Joe Johnston makes great movies. Yeah, he's got a couple bad ones, and some mediocre ones, but for the most part I've loved what I've seen from him, upto and including :

Honey, I shrunk the kids
The Pagemaster
JP3 (Still not on part with JP1, but better than the more-than-disappointing JP2)
October Sky
The Rocketeer
Wolfman (Not half as awful as its made out to be, not to mention most of the blame falls on universal, imo)
Captain America

What a visual that guy would make, or is it sort of a force being inside armor? I think it's a person from reading previous stuff on that image. I think the idea of the Jedi having a Lightsaber trained army to protect the new Republic but without control of the Force (hence the neutral colored saber's) would be a pretty cool idea.

Ive always liked the white sabers. That armor reminds me of the sith armor in the Knights of the Old Republic games.

My goodness, that list makes me want to cry. Save for "Honey, I shrunk the Kids".

Joe Johnston was the original story board artist on the original trilogy. When George was starting up the prequel trilogy he said, find me someone as good a Joe Johnston for story boarding. He was also the head of the creature shop on Return of the Jedi. George also personally paid for all of Joe Johnston tuition to USC film school. When he got out of film school George made him associate producer on Willow. He directed Captain America for Marvel, which is owned by Disney and the Rocketeer and Honey I shrunk the Kids were Disney. He has so much clout at Disney and Lucasfilm. He was visual effects supervisor on Raiders, and on Always he was the aerial sequence designer. He directed Jurassic Park 3. What do all these projects have in common? Kathleen Kennedy was executive producer on all those films.

Last year he publicly told George he wanted to make a Boba Fett film.

I hope he doesn't get to direct Episode 7, I want a young director who's very talented who's a die hard fan of the original trilogy and will kick ass like Chris Nolan or J.J Abrams or maybe even Jon Favreau.

Even as a Nolan fan I have to say hell no to him directing a star wars movie. I dont want him anywhere near this franchise. Its not even close to his wheelhouse. As for the rest of your post, that is strong evidence that Joe Johnston has most likely been approached to do the film and he would have to be crazy to turn down the offer. Cant say im overly optimistic about him doing a star wars film. He let me down with captain america.

I'm a Nolan fan and I'd say no to him too for Star WArs.

I think Joe could be approached but I doubt he would be seriously considered. For a new generation, I'd agree they need to go to a new crowd and not play it so close to the vest with dudes who are George's friends. It's up to Disney after all, and while sure Joe can do Captain America for them, they would rather have Joss Wheldon do Avengers. If you get what I'm saying. This isn't just a summer movie. This is Star Wars.

All I know is we HAVE TO see Corellia and Mandalore. Those two planets (mainly Corellia) are MUSTS

Definitely won't be the same without Darth Vader & Yoda. Maybe they could introduce a padawan in the new movie that is of the same species as Yoda that grows up between the 3 movies or possibly ghost Yoda can make a few appearances.

Also a Anakin Hayden ghost?

I'd love Hayden to return as a Ghost.

And Johnston should've remained a story board artist.

From here on out Hayden needs to stay as far from the franchise as possible. Not only for his acting being equivalent to a 2x4, but because he has too much of a bad stigma against him for what he did in the PT.

I get the stigma he's left. I still want him. Probably won't get him, though.

I loved Captain America and The Rocketeer but I'd prefer someone more visionary for a new trilogy.

As for the Force Ghost Yoda? I really hope so, him and the droids and Chewie should be involved IMO unless the timeline takes a considerable jump.

I think the guy is harshly treat and critiqued but I know I don't want to drag up old arguments and I'm sure Kathleen Kennedy knows using him would put the director at odds with hardcores right off the bat, so best to move forward as the movies are IMO....Now finding a way to incorporate Vader????

Now that Disney bought Lucasfilm, do you think they'll finally put all six SW movies on iTunes?

Or, y'know Jacen Solo being taught about Vader through holocrons, a way to incorporate both armoured and un-armoured Vader.

I believe Fox still holds distribution rights so until they revert to, or are bought by, Disney, it's unlikely unless a deal is made.
