It would be hard for him to get a girl, or even really friends. You know? There's something cool about someone naming their kid off an actor, or something subtle, like my Dad's mom favorite actor is Sean Connery, so she named my dad Sean.

If her favorite character was Optimus Prime....well, that would be a bit strange wouldn't it?

Yeah, I think I knew one too. Luke is a good name. I mean they can live their life without being totally subjected to Star Wars.

Oh yes. And what if he ends up hating Star Wars, or grows out of it? He'll never ever live it down.

It's a horrible decsion, and i'm getting a bit of backlash for calling him out on it. Oh well. He's the one who's going to pay for it in the end when kids start beating him up, or chicks refuse to talk to him for having a silly name.

Or....having such strange circumstances in his life will give him the benefit of only having an exceptional girlfriend and friends, ones who can see through all the petty bs, his name acting as a filter to sort out the wheat from the chaff.

Well, that depends on how much of a pushover he is now doesn't it? haha
Folk may laugh at him behind his back when they hear about his name, but it will be another matter entirely when he is right there with them, and they finally get to meet him in person.
Confidence baby, got me through some of the craziest times known to man, you either develop it, or you let the weak jealous rubbernecks of the world determine your fate. Not in this dojo, haha.

The weak usually gather in numbers against the outnumbered , or even the one person, same as the leaders, if they hide behind their followers, and rely on them, it is a sign of weakness.
Also, if they know they *have* to strike when the enemy is at their weakest, and give out those types of orders to the minions...weak.
It means they have genuine fear of their enemy when they are strong, and if they have never encountered their enemy when they are at their strongest... then they really don't know who they are dealing with do they?

There is always a way of dealing with these types, the Star Wars kid will just have to adapt and strike back when people inevitably try to mess with him.

Why? . If he had named him Ackbar, Obi-Wan, Vader, Shaak Ti or something bizarre like that maybe. "Palpatine, go do your homework!" . But Anakin doesnt sound like a strange name to me... perhaphs i see so many weird names everyday this one just doesnt seem strange haha. It might rub you the wrong way because you have bad memories of the character too?

You wouldnt believe the amount of weird names i see everyday at work. "A" was among the strangest ones, and by far the funniest of all was a last name: El D***ck. Not like you can avoid it, it's the last name! To make matters worse el= the in spanish so yeah, his name will be *insert first name*, the d***ck

Speaking of the name Anakin, doesnt it bother anyone else when people misspell it, like "Anikin" or "Aniken"? The fangirl in me cringes when i see it written like that lol.

My problem with the name isn't that it's strange, it's that the name is only from one certain property. It's not a name used in other places. It's a Star Wars thing.


Unless i'm wrong, and it was used before the original trilogy.

Hallmark started releasing ornaments in 1996. So I essentially have 16 years worth. I'm probably a dozen shy. I never bought every single one but I always got the ones that light up or made sound.

I've heard that in the late 70s early 80s, Anakin became a popular name for boys. It became popular again in 2000. I'm too lazy to do some actual research but there's probably quite a few Anakins walking around out there.
