I wanna say it's gonna hit 87-93. So high 80's, low 90's.
Wow, this is tough to predict... but I'm going to say mid 80s-ish. Somewhere in the 80s anyway. The sense I'm getting from the trailers and premiere tweets is that once the initial euphoria wears off the film will settle in at about third in most critics' and fans' rankings for the film series:
1) Empire Strikes Back
2) A New Hope
3) The Force Awakens
Myself, I've always liked A New Hope best, with Empire Strikes back at number two. But perhaps that's because I tend to enjoy origin stories the most to begin with in general, i.e., I love the sense of discovery about the characters and their world when its all fresh.
So that's not bad at all, really. A fun, enjoyable, respectable start to the franchise reboot. Better than Return of the Jedi, but not the best of the lot. Perhaps for a lot of folks running about neck to neck with A New Hope, or very close to rivaling it.* Not a towering grand slam home run of a film, though.
*And, actually, for me that would be fortuitous since A New Hope is my favorite.

First full review, ahead of embargo.
I'm definitely getting the vibe that the "ANH remake" argument will probably be THE popular criticism leveled against the film. Hopefully the movie is as thrilling and fun and emotional as the trailers have been to the point where we enjoy the similarities that are there. While it's been a minor concern of mine that the movie would be a little too on the safe and predictable side, I can't help but feel that the characters themselves are going to be what makes this a different story than what we've seen before.
Crazy to think that when I wake up tomorrow, there's going to be a RT score. Gonna be an interesting day.
I'm not sure the ANH remake critique will have any merit or not though. TBH it seems like one that some people have already decided to give long before they even see the movie just based on the fact that J.J. Abrams is directing it.
They gave it a B+. Mostly very positive, says it brings the Star Wars feel back etc. Cited a couple of minor script issues and acknowledged that some will find it too similar to the original film. But ultimately concluded that it's not the worst thing in the world to be similar to that movie.
While if it is similar to the first movie that is not a bad thing has long has it doesn't just fell like it is the exact same movie. If this movie is episode 3 good or better I real be happy. Some times people will talk about how such and such movie is not has good has the first movie or the second movie in a franchise ect but that is not a issue. You don't have to make a movie the best in a franchise for it to fell like a success. Has long has it is some what close then it is a success. The problem is if you have a movie that is miles worse then the other movies in the franchise.
Good. They gave it a B+.
I don't understand how you come to that conclusion, especially since we haven't seen the film yet. The reviewer even pointed out some big parallels between the two.
