State your opinion a character

Count me in with those who love Quicksilver. I tend to get drawn to smart-alec antiheroes like him.

not sure how this is suppossed to work...
but I have an idea about Wolverine.
Wolverine: No man is an island. Wolverine, to me, feels like his powers are a curse and he has to isolate himself from others so they won’t be effected by his curse. But no matter how he tries, he is still a decent human being and characters like Kitty Pryde or Jubilee can see it. He seems like the gruff father figure who would protect you with his very life. And maybe because of his powers, as well as all the bad he has done and feeling like he has a lot to make up for, he puts himself in that role because he can take whatever is thrown at him. And perhaps once they are no longer new and maybe become accustomed to things on the X-men, or leave the team, its like them leaving the nest. He has to let them go and live for themselves, can't protect them forever.
Wolverine, maybe, didn’t let himself get close to anyone for so long, (plus all the traumatic experiences trying to have a normal life and love and family and all that) until he met the X-Men and opened up more. Also, Wolverine isn’t a very good or bad father, I mean his son Daken is sort of evil but he didn't know he had a son, but he is a good protector. The girls he protects like Kitty have already be raised and parented by others to become the fine young people they are. So Wolverine doesn't exactly have to become their father, he can become their protector. Wolverine, maybe, won’t let himself be happy because he feels cursed and when he is happy bad things happen. He'd love to wear a rainbow everyday, but because of who he is he just cannot. Also he seems a little sad but accepting that his role in life is the killer. What he does isn't nice.
So the one thing he is good at, he can use to protect.
I think Wolverine would love to be happy, be a father, and live a normal non violent life, but he can’t get away from the violence.

Character wise no person is one thing, it would be sort of one dimensional to make Wolverine not have a softer side. Showing that the new young recruit, the new girl in the X-Men, and Wolverine get along like Father and daughter is a way to do that. To show that he isn't just a gruff jerk and a killing machine. I Character Counter point.
Another thing I thought of is that Wolverine actually has weapons in his hands, in his body, that come out for him to use in battle. Having weapons of death in your hands might sort of affect your perspective on things.

Umm, well, it's like this.

I or whoever is in charge posts a character, and everybody posts whether they like them or not and why.

Right now we're on Quicksilver but, eh, I'm a benevolent tyrant. I was planning on doing wolverine later so, if anybody wants to chime in on why the psychopath formally known as Logan is awesome or sucks, knock yourself out. :o

The "Dirty Cop" aspect really hit the nail on the head. I more or less followed Pietro's path to *****ery and was more than a little surprise that he redeemed his reputation by lying to everyone in their face.

Still, at least the wife wised up and started banging a Kree Accuser. Good for Ronan:woot:
The best part is that several people actually know about Pietro's lie, but they just tolerate it because they want him to reform. Hank Pym, for one, definitely pieced it together, but he lets it slide because he knows what it's like to need a second chance, and he keeps Pietro close so he can keep an eye on him, both in Mighty Avengers and now in Avengers Academy. Finesse is blackmailing him with it. Pietro's daughter Luna figured it out and now she thinks her dad's a loser. I think Stature might know as well, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering that correctly...

Yeah, Luna's disappointment cuts the deepest. Having your kid lose all respect for you, man. That's good drama.

Captain America (Steve Rogers)

CAPAV2001_cov_col.jpg

The only real American boy scout with guts.

The other boy scout chickened out.

Cap's awesome. He's so awesome that he's literally the only comic book character I can kinda tolerate when he becomes a bit of a gary stu.

Steve jumping on that grenade during basic while still a 98-pound weakling in the movie pretty much sums up why he's awesome. I f***ing love Captain America.

You know the term "he's a man's man"? Steve's a hero's hero.

Cap "this "A on my head doesnt stand for France" Rocks!! Forget Batman this is my Everyday Human turned superhero guy( and dont give me that stuff about the super juice!) you still have to train and work out still like a SOB to reach that kinda potential! Been with dude since his Falcon and "the Mad bomb" days,Nomad days, Cap Wolf days, Hologram wrist shield days,"The Captain" Days. Leifield Days ( those sucked!) Civil war days( i sure as hell would 've been on his side!).My most defining moment of him was in Daredevil. Nuke had just burned down Hell's Kitchen and he and the avengers just show up for a moment. The caption read " a solider with a voice to command a GOD! Put those flames out Thor! Hell yeah!!

Don't need to be American to love this guy, my favourite stories are the ones from WWII and when he's with the Avengers.
Civil War sold him to me

There are not enough words to describe the awesomeness of Cap

Cap is the man (and I'm a Canadian saying that). Ultimate Cap is even better in a lot of ways. More realistic in that he is willing to use automatic weapons, and better costume in that he doesn't have the stupid wings on his mask and updated gloves and boots.

I started loving cap in early new avengers issues and he was awesome in civil war

"On Olympus we measure speed by Mercury, power by Zeus, and strength by Hercules... but we measure courage by Captain America." - Hercules

Not much more you have to say.

I never really got into Captain America until I read Brubaker's run. Then I checked out some of Gruenwald's run and the run JM DeMatteis did. Really dig the character but kind of have been on the outs since they brought Steve Rogers back. Heard the book was still pretty good but kind of lost interest in Cap. I may come back soon...
