State your opinion a character

Virtually every other depiction of the Hulk that strayed from this usually held my attention more, such as Joe Fixit, The Professor, and Green Skarr from PLANET HULK.

Same here. I'll add the Bruce Jones stuff and the McFarlane run prior to Hulk in Vegas as Mr. Fixit (Ground Zero and the events leading up to it.)

The Hulk is my favourite fictional character. So misunderstood - both by the characters in the story and by the real-life general public who only seem to be aware of the mindless version of the character.

I feel the same way. He's not my favorite character, but he's definitely up there. I hate it when he gets misunderstood by people, especially when those people go off and get upset if someone doesn't like one of their favorite characters. I've heard people complain about people not liking someone who they haven't read about yet they call Hulk a plot device. The Hulk is far more than that, and even though people keep thinking of the Hulk as this dumb idiot that just wrecks **** he's much more than that. One of the highlights of Hulk is seeing the dynamic between him and Banner. It's taken right from Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde, but they've done a better job going beyond that into something that's great to read.

Usually, though, I'm not a big fan of him. He's great when done well, but when done poorly, he's just a fanboy brute, and I see that version wayyyy too much.

Well at least we got over a decade of great Hulk writing with Peter David's great run. I really liked Jenkins run too. I felt that it was too short. I wonder why it wasn't longer because I feel that it took the character back to where he should be instead of the brute that became prevalent again.

Planet Hulk is basically the only time the Hulk's ever been really likable. I liked Peter David's run, but the Hulk was a dick in that too. Banner finally giving the Hulk, in effect, "permission" to live his own life and be happy with Caiera is my favorite Hulk moment ever.

I like Hulk being an ******* because if you think about it he should be an *******. Ever since he was "born" people have been shooting at him, so I can see why he would be a testy guy considering that everyone hates him and he's more powerful than all the puny humans anyway. I loved how he dealt with Betty's pregnancy in PAD's run. That one time they went to the mountain and Betty tried to "talk some sense" into Hulk, and he was like, "FYB I'm the Hulk and I do what I want. I don't care about you or Banner." Then she tells him she's pregnant and you see him care just a little bit at the end of the issue. That was pretty cool.

Ever since he was born, he's been breaking s*** in half and endangering everyone around him. I've never, ever bought his bulls*** about wanting to be left alone. There are plenty of places he could've gone to be alone, but he doesn't go to any of them. Bruce sticks around in the middle of well populated areas within the US basically daring people to f*** with him so he can lash out like a child as the Hulk. One of the things I liked about Bruce Jones' run was that he quit playing Bruce like a victim and had him really embrace the power the Hulk gave him. People would f*** with Bruce, he'd give them fair warning, they'd keep f***ing with him, and then he'd smile as his eyes turned green.

To be fair a lot of people would tend to let loose a bit if they could throw tanks at helicopters. Especially considering the the U.S. army in the comics are a bunch of *******s, I would Hulk out a lot too. Then there are the hipsters. I'd Hulk out in Starbucks everyday if I had the chance.

Realistically. sure! dude could go hide in a cave somewhere and be left the hell alone, but we're talking about comic books Superheroes! if that happened then what kind of story would we have. it would be countless stories of him in a cave talking to himself. i want him wreaking shop on the Abomination!! I mean freaking Thor was raining lighting down in central park to call the skrulls!!( yeah! like that aint endangering people!:cwink:) Superheroes endanger everybody!!....and we all know that if the government knew if they could get their hands on a new weapon to gain the advantage over foreign powers. They just aint going to let it bound off to be alone!! They are going to pursue that *&^% to the ends of the earth! Thats why Ang lee's flim sucked! the one great bad guy for the hulk has always been the government!( i think dude was scared to show them that way, cause he was scared he would end up in Guantanamo! Hahaha ) Hell! they created the monster! like they did Godzilla!! Reaping what you sow baby! so your dumb ass better be careful!

A story about a dude who's not a childish, hypocritical *****e. :)

The Hulk is like Wolverine to me. There's a good character there, but there's this cycle of idiocy fed by many fans and many creators that's made him awful for years.

I agree completely. Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X issues are some of the best comics I've ever read, as are a lot of Larry Hama's "lone samurai" stories in Wolverine's ongoing. But 90% of Wolverine's comics are utter s*** because they just cater to the people who want to see him slash stuff up with no remorse.

Hahahaha but then you would get Adult, revering in his power jerk wad Hulk ( which we have seen! cause that dude has every freaking personality under the sun!) At least child like Hulk had remorse! I like remorse! I think jerky !i can do what i want *Cough Cough Iron Man Cough* is whats wrong with what going on in comics now.... but to each their own. I dig Jade jaws not cause yeah! i want to be a able to toss crap around. its cause i can if dont leave me the *&^% alone!!! hahaha... i take back what i said about liking Thor now Corp! now hahaha naw! i kid i kidd i love Goldilocks. *I miss the days when they all have the nicknames. Winghead, webhead, strecho! *&^%is all so freaking dark and serious now! Only Spider still has any humor and he freaking made a deal with the devil ! Geez!

( * i know i know! that's cornball and i am corny! So sue me geez! you guys hahaha)

You couldn't stop liking Thor if you tried 'cause Thor's a genuinely great character. :oldrazz:

I miss those nicknames too. Although Ben still calls Reed "Stretch" or "Stretcho" sometimes.

I admit it!Thor is awesomely bad ass!! and his flair for fashion is certainly nothing to sneeze at. Hella alot better than purple freaking pants! hahahaha

Ben is one of my favorite characters ever. The guy's just awesome.

In my opinion, the three greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe, in terms of how heroic they are, are Captain America, Spider-Man, and The Thing.

I respect him. He's also the most laid back and fun loving guy from the 60s.

The Thing
I find him a very likeable Marvel character, though not one that would make my top 10. He's just a genius creation though - you have to respect the ideas that went into this character. A bonus for fans of the Thing is that his personality was so brilliantly defined in Stan and Jack's 100+ issues on FANTASTIC FOUR that it makes him incredibly hard to screw up.

My two favorite comic characters are Superman and Ben. I love everything about him, thats why I got him tattooed on my forearm.

Ben Rocks!!( pun intented!)Love me some of Mrs.Grimm's little boy! The strong guys on the team have always been my favorite and Ben is awesome or as i used to call him when i was a kid "Rockman". Damn man! your name is "The Thing!" but you have a heart like he does! That dude has to rocks! He rocks so hard that cause of him i watched " Fred and Barney meet the Thing!(Yes! that was a real Saturday morning tv show. i cant make this ^%$# up!) This stupid kid transformed into that the Thing whenever there was trouble. He would put his two rings together. "Thing ring do your Thing!" and transform into a 30 something old Thing!) only a character as great as "the thing" could get to me watch such abysmal trash!

Well, that's it for the Thing.
I'M GOIN' I'M GOIN' MATCHSTICK!!
