I really like the batmobile, but I'm kind of against the flying one. I mean, I know there's no reason for why Batman
wouldn't have a flying batmobile, considering all the advanced technology available to someone with his kind of money in the DCU.
...But my problem is just that there's nowhere really to go with future car designs once Bruce has one that flies.
We can see that sheer variety of interesting car designs here:But from now on, any future version of the car that crops up that
isn't flight capable is immediately rendered useless, along with the batwing. There's no reason for why Batman wouldn't just scoff at any new ground-based car design, and then hop into his flying Jetsons car. James Bond had a similar situation when he was given a car that could turn invisible. There's just not many ways you can top that without straining your credibility even more than it already is. Where's Batman supposed to go with car designs from this point? Maybe one that can travel through time (if he doesn't have one already)? Judging from the
History of the Batmobile pic, Batman just sorta inexplicably goes back to using tires and roads with his cars. Why would he do that when he has a
better car that can fly? I know why the writers would have him go back to a more down-to-earth car (
), but I'd be interested in hearing an in-universe explanation.
