State Your Opinion on A Character - Part 1

Well, when you consider that Starfire came first, that kinda means it's the other way around.

I likes me some Starfire. Innocent yet so violent. Precursor to Miss Martian. Though this whole "I dont care about humans" in R&TO aint cutting it. They should allow her to move up to something bigger instead of all these minor teams. She gets one break for the JL and she gets knocked off immediatly.

she's um...hot. i never really read any Teen Titans, at least with her. my only exposure to her is from the show, which i loved growing up. i liked her in the show.

Never really cared either way about her. I guess that's why I'm not broken up about her characterization in Red Hood and the Outlaws.

Yeah, but history is more than what you found out about first. :o

I'm pretty sure youre wrong about that.

How so?

Because you heard about Vietnam before you heard about the United States Civil War doesn't mean Vietnam came first.

Starfire Freaking Rocks! come on man! A hot half naked alien babe with orange skin and green eyes who learns knowledge from kissing! ( I would give her some Knowledge alright) Violent as hell! but all kind of naive! one of the best new characters, that was the reason i started to dislike Xmen and like Teen-T in the 80's! Chick would bust you real good if you &^%$ed with her but then make out with her just cause it aint no big deal."you earthlings and your hangups about sex!" Starfire ROCKS!!

I'm not too fond of Starfire's personality in the comics, although I totally adored her in the Teen Titans cartoon.

Wolfman character, can't stand him or his characters. She was charming on the Teen Titans cartoon.

I liked it during the B13 virus years.

It really looked like the city of tomorrow. That Metropolis mini starring Jimmy Olson was awesome.

My favorite era for the city. I loved the crazy architecture, the futuristic atmosphere, and the holographic globe for the Daily Planet. It really seemed like the writers were putting a whole new focus on coming up with new and fun science fiction-oriented stories (even moreso than the town was already associated with at the time :wow:). I was pretty sad to see the B13 Metropolis erased, especially the holographic globe. I loved that thing.

As for Starfire...?
I thought that her relationship with Dick Grayson was pretty cool and very sweet, but I liked her in the Teen Titans cartoon most of all.

I usually agree with stuff you have to say, but this I can't quite agree with(nor with your disliking of anti-heroes...i LOVE the Punisher, and Wolverine, when he was first introduced, was a good character), but Marv Wolfman is hardly a bad writer. His intention for the Crisis were good natured. Just because editorial didn't know what to do after the fact doesn't make Wolfman crap. Tomb of Dracula is by far one of the greatest comic books ever written, and that's because Wolfman made it that way.

As for Starfire, I like her. Not this huge knowledgeable fan, but I like her. And it pains me to see what's become of her.

As for Jason Todd, I'm with TruerToTheCore. Jason Todd was a really interesting, fun character back when he was first introduced, post-crisis especially. The Max Allan Collins run on BATMAN is one of my favorites and Jason was one of the reasons. He's a pretty compelling character in those issues. He wasn't a Dick Grayson clone. He was angry and brash sure, but to an extent. He was still incredibly sympathetic and you wanted to see him get better. And he's so fun in Mike W. Barr's Detective stuff, especially with Alan Davis on the art. The first two issues of their run, with The Joker and Cat Woman, is such a good story and Jason is one of those reasons. That Starlin ruined the character doesn't mean anything.

Am I not allowed to dislike stuff? It's a taste issue. I don't like Starfire.

I :hrt: Starfire

She's one of my favourite original members of the Teen Titans team from the Wolfman and Perez stories and I love her personality and her look as well

She's neat :)

I was never a Tomb of Dracula fan. I bought it because of Dracula but I wasn't a fan of Wolfman's writing in it. In fact, I've never liked any series that he's written. I didn't like his Titans, I really disliked his FF, and I wasn't a fan of his Superman, Pre or Post-Crisis.

And COIE itself was a horrid idea, a prime example of fixing what was never broken. Anyone who is too stupid to understand alternate Earths and doppelgangers needs a new hobby.

As for anti-heroes, I like some of them-Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Quicksilver, etc. The only big anti-hero I hate is Wolverine. I consider Punisher to be a villain.

Well, that's it for Starfire.

They turned me into a what?!?

Supergirl

I love Supergirl, the innocent Pre-Crisis little girl Supergirl that Jerry Siegel wrote as his daughter, Laura most of all. It was horses and princes and centaurs and Brainiac 5 built the time bubble just because he had a crush on her. It was insanely girly and Supergirl was Dorothy and Alice with super-powers, sweetness and innocence personified. A lot of my childhood favorites-Dorothy, Supergirl, Mary Marvel-were these types of characters. The most recent version before the DCnU reboot started off kinda poorly but her book got better and better and by the last few storylines with Bizarrogirl, the book had became my favorite DC title.

The other versions of Supergirl over the years were never as personally important to me as Kara, but I still liked them and I didn't blame those characters for what DC did to Kara.

If I don't give up and quit collecting, Supergirl will always be a title that I buy.

Starfire looks like she is going to choke a ***** there :ninja:

I like Supergirl. She's Karadorable and very fun to read the later issues of her post crisis comic book and her Batgirl guest appearance were super fun too

She fought an army of Draculas!
