The Doctor... Welp, I came to WHO very late with the re-boot. I had a childhood friend who was crazy for the Doctor and he kept trying to get me into it. No dice. As a kid if I saw something sci fi but it was, umm.. "Talky" I tended to tune out. So it was with the classic WHO. Oh, I was familiar enough with the bullet points of the mythos, but frankly it never grabbed me and I never saw a reason to revisit my initial impression. So I saw a good chance to get into WHO with the relaunch... but never got around to catching it. Tennant was already into his run when I started seeing bits on BBC-America and then I gobbled up the series retroactively. Now from the way so many in the WHO TV thread go on sometimes you'd actually think it's a terrible show because it seems to me all they do is piss and moan about the show. For myself it's cracker jack sci fi that reminds me of my youth when TNG and DS9 were at their best. I've come rather fond of The Doctor and am chomping at the bit for the next series to start. Now, when it come to classic Who, I don't have the ability to judge clearly. I think I get the appeal though I can be harsh on the production values and some of the writing and acting. Then again, I doubt I could show old Star Trek episodes, or even TNG to some kids now a days and expect the kind of reaction I had to them either. All in all, I like WHO and the Doc, though I never read his Marvel stories. I know Death's Head was introduced there, yes?
Oh... Mr. Sinister is from a long line of X-villains I just don't give a crap about that are none the less involved in everything making a ton of X stories things I just don't care for in the least.
