I loved his stint as the 4th FF member in the 70's animated show, due to Johnny not being used because the studio thought it would encourage kids to set themselves on fire.

(yeah I know the real reason but that one is much more hilarious)

What's the real reason? Toys?

DR. ALDRICH (Not with A.I.M.) KILLIAN

He was um... a scientist, who died. The art in the issue was good.. um..

He dead.

There's nothing to talk about he was only on like 3 pages before he shot himself in the head xD.

Universal were trying to get a live-action series made around the time. That would have been....interesting to say the least especially with 70's era special effects.

As for Killian, its kind of hilarious that a character that caused so much controversy in IM3 was literally in 2 panels of the comic. Great story though.

I've actually soured on Magneto. Oddly, I was really afraid of him because for some reason the episode of SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS frightened me when I was a child for some stupid reason. He's long been supposedly the most sympathetic of villains, with his back story (and frankly every post Claremont writer of the mutant books actually having society doing things in the Marvel U. that JUSTIFY his world view and not Charles Xavier's... But I digress). However, ya know what? Fudge his rationales. Fudge being sympathetic, and his back story. He's crossed line after line. He's an elitist idiot. There's aint nothing superior about mutants. Nothing. Show me a mutant that loves more and hates less. Show me a mutant that gives without expecting to receive. Show me that, and then tell me it's BECAUSE they are a mutant, and them maybe I'll see what ole Mags does. As it stands... He's just an A-1 *****ebag who gets away with a lot because the writers at Marvel both can't understand that they keep providing his character with reasons to be sympathetic, and that the issues that the X-Men are metaphors for, in the real world, have evolved into much more complex sociological phenomenons than what they were in the 1960's/1970's. I'm not a fan of Morrison per se, but his idea to be done with Magneto might have been the right thing.

Making him a hero is the best thing to happen to him

He's easy to relate to because we've all been wronged by somebody and want to lash back, but we have to try and use that anger for more constructive things, or just let go. It's worse for Mags because he can you know, melt the planet if he wanted to. :p

I'd rather see Magneto go back to a villain. Not just an X-Men villain but a mega villain for the entire MU.

I love Magneto. I don't see him as much of a villain, he's just willing to do what he can for his kind.

Magneto's one of my favorite characters. Always interesting, whether he is a hero or a villain.

Huh. Good read. Not my opinion, but very good reasoning.

he ties with Doom on the best supervilain list as number 1. Very interesting, threatning and complex. I really like him as an X-Men especially in Gillen's run where everybody was knd of afraid of him even though he was on their side.

Magneto is probably my favorite comic book character of all.

I always liked him, but as a villain. His frenemy relationship with Charles was nice and did make things a bit bittersweet when they fought, but he was still a villain and a good one at that. I saw where he was coming from with his need to protect mutantkind. Didn't agree with it, but I saw where it was coming from.
