State Your Opinion on a Character!!!! (Reboot) - Part 4

Willie is a good little background, support character.

Firestar is another one I like in theory but in reality I almost never see her used well. For example Amazing X-Men finally introduced her into the X-Men and she was basically ignored other than on a few pages.

EDWIN JARVIS

Can someone tell me what happening with Jarvis in the comics? Is he still around? Is he still a butler? A human butler?

I never cared for him. Not a dislike by any means. He's all right as a background Iron Man support character. He's there, and I'm used to him.

He disappeared in favor of J.A.R.V.I.S.
At least, no appearance in any Iron Man comic I read since the movie was released.

So JARVIS I take it is the artificial intelligence from the movies?

I hate to say it...I mean, I really hate to say it...but I prefer movie AI Jarvis over comic Alfred Pennyworth-Jarvis. Mostly, because I hate when the comics are distorted to satisfy the movies...

Yeah, the AI.

And agreed about hating distorting the comics like that.

Jarvis is the best super-hero butler. Did he ever meet up with Alfred in any of the DC/Marvel crossover events?

I ain't got a bad thing to say about Wille (Hey!! Stop laughing and keep your mind out of the gutter BV. ;) .
Who? MOI? in the Gutter? Never!!! maybe the storm drain from time to time but never the gutter!Unless i drink Madd Dog 2020:cwink: its cool that you like "Big Willie!" hehehe
anyways....

JARVIS is FREAKIN COOL ASS! that dude is the man! and the stories he must have about Avengers Mansion! imagine the stories when Warbird/ Capn Marvel was drunk off her ass!!talk about " in the gutter!" Jarvis rocks!

Jarvis is the last remnant of what was once a super cool part of the Avengers - their support staff.

I like Jarvis, both the original and the movie version :)

Nate is dead... That's about all I got. Dude was a sometimes love interest for May that ironically died because of the Vulture who was also his friend... That's it.

Not the best love interest for May, he's good at things, but gambling was a major issue of his.

He was strange, as in he was written inconsistently. At first he was this wheelchair bound nice old man that Peter actually got along great with then became a degenerate gambler that was a nasty son of a b*****.

Damn, did Aunt May just get laid something nasty in her old age...

Nathan was annoying. And as much as I liked Michelinie's run of ASM, he gave us some FANTASTIC Spidey moments, and some meh Peter Parker personal-life, out-of-costume, non-superhero drama. From this old fart, to Mary Jane's little cousin Kristy or Christine or Dunst or whatever her name was.

Then the old bastard banging the old broad did the one thing the old broad could never do...have a heart attack and die. Like seriously? Aunt May has heart attacks like she has an embargo on them. Nate has only one, and dies. THAT'S how you do it :argh:

I was out of comics when JJJ sr. was introduced so I have not a solitary informed opinion of him. Uninformed opinion? Well... He seems a rather ridiculous concept. I figured that Jonah is sort of a man in his very late 50's or early 60's. That his father is supposed to be still kicking around seems unlikely, much less that he's be a good looking silver fox... Yeah, the basic concept screams, "we... didn't think this through enough". Is he another "love interest" for May? I love May, truly. Great character. Super important to Peter, especially in any version where he is very young... But she needs to DIE. She needs to DIE and she needs to DIE knowing all about her heroic nephew's career as Spidey, and she needs to do it in such a way that it re-sets the timeline.

Dan Slott (from what I've read, as I try to read as little of Slott's Spider-Man as possible) hasn't proven why we need a character like JJJ Sr. around, let alone why he has to have close ties to Peter. He's just there to plow that old broad.

I'll leave it at that, since I generally try to use the grapevine to find out what's going on over in Spidey as I can't stomach this era of Spidey...

JJJ Sr is kind of just..... there. He's nothing special, and is one of the few questionable aspects of Slots work. Though he and his son's differing political views lead to some entertaining scenes, he's really underused.

Bamf-ometer Score: 6

I like that he took May away from the scene, most of the time.

That's three characters in a row who have been in horny May. Is Doc Ock or Uncle Ben going to be next?
