The only way they could kill Chewie was when he sacrificed his life saving the youngest son of his best friend while fighting off an army by himself. Even then it took a ****ing moon being dropped on him to finally kill him.

Of course now it's non-canon thanks to the new movies but still, ****ing badass.

Even though I knew it was coming by the time I read that book, that one hurt to read. A lot.

Taking cue from the page Wolfcypher was on. :ss:

THE ORIGINAL DEFENDERS, AND SILVER SURFER

Never read much of the original Defenders but I love the team when it's made up of Namor, Surfer, Dr Strange and Hulk just because everyone is just trying to put up with each other long enough to actually accomplish something but Namor and Hulk keep pissing each other off every few minutes.

Justice League cartoon arc; Eclipsed (Season 2, Episodes 13-14) had the Defenders in a different skin.
The sea king (Orin), the sorcerer supreme (Dr. Fate), and the hulk (Solomon Grundy).

No, Blackest Vulcan...You're the %^&*!! :awesome:
well its about time you took notice!!
This stuff takes hard work and dedication you know... and actually i am more of a "chocolate mocha latte" like hue!! hahahaha:cwink:

MANNNN! LOVE LOVE THE DEFENDERS!! probably more than i do the Avengers!! Love that all those guys were loners who really didnt dig mankind all that much but it worked with them as a group! those Mother%^&*were TOUGH with Hulk and Namor and then you throw in Doc strange!!( later cause you need a babe, cant just have all that "wood" on a team you know, they added Valkyrie!) hahaha:woot:
plus why i think i loved em was they fought some of the strangest *(^& ever!! the Headsmen... this guy..

Well they had Leprechauns reveal Wolverines name as Logan during a fight with Juggernaut so an elf with a gun isn't that far off.

Some of these things they do in comics in or out of context are ****ing weird.

Comics are weird.
And that is part of their charm.

It's kind of like Doctor Who having it's 10th anniversary after it's 50th, even if you understand why it's still weird.

I'll call the Doctor stuff 616 & Ultimate.
Weirdness kaput.

I'm so lazy to find someone new today, I'll just take this.

hahahaha you funny Spider my man!! you aint suppose to be LAZY!!:argh: people are depending on you! hehe
anywas i am sure i am going to be be only one commenting on this dude but he was %^& STRANGE!! after posting that the other i had to go back and look him up more it seems the artist wanted to depict the random violence of the world through it being non- sequitur... i dont know about that but he was freaking weird! A serial killer who dressed as a elf..

Defenders031_10.jpg

but this is why we would love comics!!
and the crazy stuff is dude himself got kill as he was about to shoot someone and a Semi truck plowed him down( just randomness %^&*) which years later the chipmunk Green Lantern Ch'p would die not from Sinestro or something like that but a semi truck the same way..... hmmm coincidence or reading that crazy defenders book? you decide!!
that %^&*ing elf was CREEPY though!!

HAHAHAHAHAH that book says "GARISH" LAS VEGAS.....and you know they are right! i live here!!

Man, is this guy Carnage before Carnage was invented?
Looks like he just picks a random name from the phone book and kill the person.

yeah basically that dude was just randomly killing people for no good reason!
which kinda creeped me out as a little kid cause i would be walking to school thinking a Freaking elf was going to jump out and off me!! that ^&* kinda scared me!! haha
these comics be messing with your mind!!

The Elf With A Gun...

Okay, truth is, this was a product of Steve Gerber's weird mind, but it was also the product of lax editorial policy at Marvel, with friends editing friends and letting them get away with alot. Now, some might say that this was one of the funkiest and freest time at Marvel. And I would agree. But... There's a big case to be made that Gerber LITERALLY was just throwing stuff against the wall in an attempt at being... SOMETHING, I don't know what, but making tightly plotted super hero comics was not in his mind. Some applaud that, and I get why but for me as a reader, it always felt like that stuff was strange for strange's sake and really there was no end game.

They did random stuff in Marvel back then, same with DC. Just look at the random **** that happened during the disco era.

Mind you Hypno Hustler is the greatest character they've ever created.
