State Your Opinion on A Character

Yeah, I'd go as far as to institute a comic book *****e bag test based on Aquaman. Simply put, if you're talking to a comic fan and ask them how they feel about Aquaman, if it's anything other than he's awesome, then they are a *****e bag and are to be mocked and defecated upon. :o

^ BWHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks god! I like Aquaman! That don't sound like fun! Hahahahahaha!

Agreed, sans defecation.

You've shown that your dedication to the cause is weak. :o

uh... i agree with corp.... cant i just pass gas in their general direction!! your dedication to the lord of the seven seas, though justified... seems abit uhhhh messy! oh lord of the underworld! hahahahahaha

"Everyone who doesn't agree with me is stupid or evil"
Sounds like you guys are going into politics. Are you going to call it the Aquaman Party?

No, we'll call it the We're Right and You're Wrong Party. Liking Aquaman is only a small part of that.

It's funny, because I just wrote up a post saying something similar in one of the threads on religion which I constantly make the mistake of involving myself in.

However, this is not that thread. If you don't agree that Aquaman kicks ass, you're a fool. A FOOL!

I read PAD's classic Aquaman run. It made me respect the character more. Even then he's still not so great that I care to read about him. He's one of those characters I don't have a problem with, but I won't really actively seek them out unless one of my favorite writers is on the book.

Most people hate Aquaman for objectively dumb reasons, thus they are dumb.

Nah, dude, we're definitely the heroes the Hype deserves. :oldrazz:

The PAD run was hit-or-miss for me in the end, but I definitely loved that he made Aquaman more of a political force. Opening Atlantis to the public, having it represented in the UN, etc. That was all great, especially when Atlantis got framed for a terrorist attack (in an arc that the inimitable Steve Epting penciled, no less). I'd love to see more of that, although Johns seems to be going for more of a straightforward, superhero-patrolling-the-ocean situation. Which is cool too.

That's what I want from a guy like Aquaman. I want to see him as a political leader more than as a hero. Not that I mind him being a hero too. Black Panther is my favorite character after all. I feel that monarchs are really not written to their potential in comics. PAD's run gave me a little bit of that.

Most people were exposed to Aquaman in "Superfriends." Can you really blame them?

Like I said, they dislike Aquaman for objectively dumb reasons. Basing your opinion on one of the worst cartoon adaptations of all time without looking at anything else relating to the character is an objectively dumb reason. I can absolutely blame them.

Superfriends Aquaman wasnt that bad when you think about it

Not compared to El Dorado or Samurai

Neither of whom was a lost city of gold or a samurai :o

Oh 'Nubsy

So it's the viewers fault that they see a character as slightly more useful than Wonderdog... it had nothing to do with the writers.

Yes.

And I'm getting tired of your questions.

I'm unbuttoning my pants, and I warn you, I just had a burrito.

It's not the viewer's fault that he sucked. It's the viewer's fault for making an uninformed opinion based on one ****** show.
