Swampy Rocks as mention before that Alan Moore stuff was off da hook, but i have loved most of his series to begin with. I even dug the flicks ( come on! it had hot ass Adrienne Barbeau, but what really made me a swamp gator was his Tv series, for cheesy ass Tv they really tired to be serious!(that Opening is no joke!)
DO NOT BRING YOUR EVIL HERE B(*&^%!!( i added that last part! hehe)

That *&^%$ was bad ass and Swampy ROCKS!!

I actually remember that Swamp Thing show from when Sci Fi was showing it

You guys think they should do another movie?

They definitely could do a killer Swamp Thing movie now with CGI. Would like them to do something based off of Alan Moore's stuff. Think that it could end DC's streak of bad movies...other than Batman. :oldrazz:

Swampy rocks. Liked him by Len and Bernie, liked him by Alan Moore, like the movies and the show even though they were cheesy. It would make a great film now, especially if they mixed CGI with great makeup and a big budget.

Swamp Thing rules! I think Alan Moore's run is one of the best output ever, although as a concept I prefer the original Wein version.

Pasko's run is also nice and underrated, moody, full of witches and stuff like that.

One of the only current DC titles I'd spend any money on (Animal Man is another) and Moore's run was probably the best run of anything ever, IMO. (Considering only indefinite "runs" and not works with a fixed ending time planned in advance)

That's it for Swamp ass.

Hugo Strange

My third favorite Batman villain behind Ra's and Two-Face. I really wish they'd do more with him. In Arkham City he was great when he was there, but I feel that they should have given him more screen time as the main villain.

Ummm Sucks! Was never into dude and there's only one cat worthy of last name" Strange" ...and its cause he wears a 70's style collar!

I like Hugo Strange. He's a villain I completely relate to especial in Matt Wagner's Monster Men.

Strange is a man with a chip on his shoulder. He feels that he should be superior but somehow ends up inferior due to whatever perceived flaws he has (which is no doubt exacerbated by the world we live in where LOOKS matters more than ability) and strives to attain this perfection.

He's like a kid growing up looking at muscle men on the covers of body building magazines. He wants to be like them so badly, and he works hard at it, looks down on EVERYONE who doesn't believe in what he is doing and like all body builders and athletes have bouts of self-loathe and depression on his journey.

Except the only difference is Strange doesn't want to be a body builder, he wants to be Batman, who is in his eyes the perfect example of an Alpha Human being. A marriage of keen intellect and physical attributes. And he gets laid regularly too. So yeah, I can completely understand WHY Strange is so damn obsessive.

There have been trends of "Dark Batmen", like Jason Todd,Hush, the Wraith, Prometheus or Jean-Paul Valley or that weird Batmen storyline cooked up by Morrison back in R.I.P, but most of them don't really get under the skin or the psyche of Batman quite like Hugo Strange does.

And no, I'm not just saying this because he appeared in Arkham City. I've always held Strange in regard as an under-used Batvillain, joking that he is Batman's biggest obsessive fanboy.

I dig Hugo Strange. I REALLY liked the miniseries that Matt Wagner did with him. Great story and the artwork was amazing, of course!

I love Hugo! He needs to be used much more often he doesn't appear nearly often enough. His obsession with Batman and his intellect makes him a great creepy villain for Bruce to face

Loved him in Arkham City too he was creepy as hell especially on some of the patient interview tapes. The Mad Hatter ones creep me out

I've always felt that if they were to introduce the fantastic back into the Batman movie franchise, they should go with a loose Batman and the Monster men adaptation.

Hugo Strange is pretty boss. I like the idea of mad scientists who commit crimes, not because of profit, but to solve puzzles and satisfy morbid curiosity in the name of science. Making him a psychologist makes it work especially well, and fit especially well in Batman's world. He doesn't care about making people better or helping the world, he just wants to solve the puzzle of the human mind because it fascinates him. Part of that involves destroying people psychologically. And he's cool with that.

Going off of what Anubis said above, I think if you were going to take a Batman franchise in the opposite direction from what he suggested, I think it would be especially ballsy to have the primary bad guys in a Batman adaptation initially be Hugo Strange and Carmine Falcone, with none of the top tier rogues or over the top super villainy until later.

Strange is such a good villain that even his ghost was a great villain.

The Earth-Two Hugo Strange was in one of the best Batman stories ever, "Interlude on Earth-Two!", written by the great Alan Brennert.

Never heard of Hugo Strange until I started playing the Arkham games. I didn't know he was one of Batman's oldest villains. He even pre-dates the Joker.

I'd like to see him in a future live-action movie, playing the main villain.

That would be pretty fab actually :atp:

Who would you want to play Hugo 'Nubsy

I don't know...I don't have any delusions that I'm good a casting like most fanboys around these parts.....Jeff Bridges maybe.

Anyway, that's it for Hugo.

The Spirit

I only knew about the character in passing, often seeing his hardcover collections in the library and figured he was way too old timey for me.

Then I saw the Miller movie.

I didn't need to read the source material to know that the character was being butchered.

Could never get into the character the way I always wanted to (Or felt like i could) but I read some of Darwyn Cookes run and it was pretty good.
His film is the worst comic book movie of all-time, though. Makes Batman and Robin look like Citizen Kane.

Heh, yeah, One of Frank Miller's greatest sins.

I suggest that everybody, if they haven't already, check out Darwyn Cooke's relaunch of the character from a few years ago. It was, just soooo awesome.

Wasn't there this crazy team-up between the Spirit, Doc Savage and Batman not too long back? How was it?
