I love Damian. My first signature on SHH was a quote from him from one of the early Batman and Robin issues. This kid beat the Joker with a crowbar. How can you not love him?

Damian is a blotch on the Batman books. Having a teenage boy taking down grown men street fighters etc is bad enough, but he's supposed to be a 10 yr old?!?! (at least that's what the last BandR said). That's just stupid. I can't read that crap. And the kid with the bad attitude schtick got played out a long time ago.

He's the genetically-engineered son of a guy who dresses like a Bat, fights crime, time travels, and hangs out with aliens that shoot lasers from their eyes. He's also the grandson of a terrorist who is immortal because of a magical bath that restores his youth. He was created and trained by his Mother to be a great warrior and perfect genetic specimen. With all of those details, the fact he does what every single Robin does and beat up an adult is what takes you out of it?

Hahaha...with EVERYTHING that happens in the DCU, all the sci-fi/mystical chaos, people wearing costumes with cool names having adventures, the dude being 10 bothers you? Ridiculous. For me, once you accept that a grown man would become Batman or that there are aliens out there that look identical to humans, you accept it all. Also, reading the golden age Batman stories, it seems like Dick is no older than 10 as well.
Damien is great, when penned by Morrison. I loved him and Jokers scenes together towards the end of the Return of Bruce Wayne/Black Glove arc. And its a shame that he and Dick were split up, I loved that duo.

I really enjoyed the Damian and Dick intertaction but Tomasi is really tearing it up right now between Bruce and Damian. Then, of course, Alfred trying to be there for both Bruce and Damian. Great stuff.

I have mixed feelings towards Damian. On the one hand, I occasionally find his bratty/snotty comments amusing, but I mainly find him incredibly irritating. He's generally a stuck up little **** who could do with being taken down several pegs (preferably by The Joker, using a heavy metal object. A crowbar perhaps.)
I have even more problem with him when I think about him compared with Jason. They both have/had pretty bad attitudes and a lot of issues, but Jason seemed to inspire a lot more vitriol than Damian, which I think has a lot to do with class issues (which tend not to be discussed all that often in comics, in favour of more exploration of sexism/racism). But, I suppose that's more a problem with fan reactions to the characters than the characters themselves.
Generally, I dislike him, but he makes me laugh every now and then.

My only issue with Damien is that they had him kill the Spook right out of the gate. I wish it had just been a generic gangster. Besides that, I like the little *******. He's from that Namor/Pietro/Vegeta cloth.

Man I use to think Beast boy was one of the dumbest names in comics ( that was before I knew about B’wanna Beast) then he became “Changeling “ and thought okay that’s kinda cool. Then dude went through all that emotional turmoil with Terra of the Teen Titans ( aint that always what happens with babes) and was like who cares about the name the dude rocks!( that’s a bad dude when you can have a dumb name and still cool! I love dude! His surrogate mom is a messed up elastic chick and his dad is a messed up super genius. "Form of a Rigellian Dung beetle!" Beast Boy( I still hate that name though) ROCKS!!

I dig Beast Boy. He's a fun character and I think his power is a pretty neat one that gives us cool effects when he takes on different shapes

 

[The Question]

The beast boy/changeling name change is actually a source of conflict for me. On the one hand, as far as names go Beast Boy stands out a lot more. On the other hand, it seemed pretty in character for Gar to change his name when he got older into something "cool." On the other hand, it is also in character for him to stick with a silly/kiddy name for the sake of whimsy. On the other hand, the name change was a blatant ploy to cash in on the cartoon and annoyed me on principal.

Sucks and is fugly in the comics, charming cool goth chick in the cartoon. Like the rest of the Wolfman/Perez Titans, was much improved by the cartoon.

 

[Primal Slayer]

I like Raven though noone really knows how to use her for the past 20 years it seems. She never really gets developed before getting changed or having her pops popping back in the picture.

She should be part of JLark. It makes perfect sense for the character but I guess Cyborg is the only one who gets to get the limelight.

There is something oddly charming about a show with a premise built around Naval MPs that occasionally includes spy thriller storylines about corrupt CIA agents planning worldwide assassinations for the purposes of personal revenge.

Like the others, I liked Raven in the show, but was disappointed to find those same traits weren't found in the comics.
Maybe she'll be more interesting when she's introduced into the new 52 Teen Titans.
