I don't like death in comics, and I don't like zombiefied superheroes. Seeing Kal-L as a Black Lantern especially pissed me off. **** the Black Lanterns.

They were Zombies!( i still dont get this love for Zombies! Me i dig werewolves better!( not those sorry ass "twilight ones either! ) they only rocked marginally a) cause it was cool to see some of my fav heroes as jacked up bad guys! and b) Black Hand turned out to be a most jacked up bad guy! Dude! you going to kill a dog!! Thats #1 most evilest thing to do!( just ask Michael Vick! Haha) The other bad guys are like dude!! you killed a dog!?!?! we dont want nothing to do with you!... and for that *rocked but only marginally!

....oh and the BLs would have been cooler if it they had all been pissed off , beret, black glove( see black hand , black glove) wearing afro brothers and sistas sticking it to the MAN!!!( aka the GL) they are pi... umm COPS! after all!:cwink:

* Black vulcan loves doggies and would never do that, but thinks the hatered for vick is a bit too much!

I don't really care for zombies either, especially trash talking ones. The black lanterns could have been much cooler than that. If they needed to be some undead type of creature they could have been something more ominous, or at least less decrepit like the undead reanimated shinobi in Naruto, but not something that has become the biggest joke of the horror genre like zombies have, which again isn't helped by all the trash-talking from this lot of brain munchers.

Well, the people have spoken and the consensus sounds kinda racist. :o

Looks like Starlight Express....with Zombies.

Reminds me that I need to finish the Sandman series. I'm only half way through vol 4, but I like her as some-what of a wiser sister figure to Dreams. At least, that the way she comes off as.

Wait a sec! Is that--Is that Lex Luthor in the background of that pic? Why?!

Because she showed up in Action Comics recently where she and Lex had a conversation.

Because Death visited him in an issue of Action Comics last year. It was pretty good.

Edit: NUBS! :argh:

Ah. Cool. Havent kept up with her since Sandman ended. Thanks, guys!

That's been pretty much her only appearance since Sandman ended, I think.

I believe there was a few more Death minis after Sandman ended.

I'm gonna have to check that out.
So nice to get the occasional little reminder The Endless are still out there doing their thing. Still, small cameos and guest appearances should be as far as it goes.
I'd really hate to see Geoff Johns or someone make some sort of stupid, overblown 'event' out of them... "Coming this Autumn... The End Of The Endless!"

I like Death, but not as much as I would if I was an angsty teen in the 1990's, like David from Roseanne. That dude loved Death.

Of course. She was bright and sunny and he was banging an angsty mean b***h.

Never read sandman but did read her mini, and from that little part i didnt get it... so i guess i really dont have an opinion since i know zilch about girl!

I don't know a whole ton about her as I only read a little of Gaiman's Sandman, but she is cool and the idea of death looking and acting like her makes the idea of dying a little more pleasant.

I love Death :hrt:

She's my favourite character from Sandman and she's so cute and amazing. She's my favourite version of the Grim Reaper :)

I love Death :hrt:

You're so ****ing metal.

Seriously, though, Death is great. What works about her is the contrast. She is something that is by it's very nature sad and dark and feared by people, but she as a character is kind, wise, and cheerful. And it's not like the contrast is random, it makes sense in story. She's been around forever, she's met nearly everybody, she's experienced everything life has to offer, and she knows the true nature of one of the biggest things people fear and understands that fear from both sides. It would stand to reason that she'd be this super cool hybrid of Falstaff and Yoda who non the less can and does get serious when it's called for. The only Grim Reaper character in fiction who I think is better is Death from Discoworld, and that's only because he has the same contrast, but it's a little more subtle and thus something you discover about the character as you read the books, and I kind of like that sort of character development.

As for Faust... meh. He's a pretty standard super villain, just with magic instead of death rays. Personality wise he's really bland.

The Black Lanterns weren't zombies.

Nor were the Marvel Zombies for that matter. :o
