State Your Opinion on A DC Character - Part 3

Not at the beginning. That whole Blue/Red stuff happened in the middle of his run. Despite the fact that Supes was Blue and all Electric at the time, one of the greatest feats Supes ever had happened during that run. He held the Moon together through shear force of will, (And a little electromagnetism :o) Then he wrestled a damn King Angel to a standstill.

I keep hearing about Morrison's run on JLA being so damn good. Was it really so damn good?

It was VERY good!! One of the last things I collected before I opted to take a hiatus from comic collecting in general. I was skeptical hearing about the hype precluding its arrival at my local comic shop, but it was pretty much worth it.

Marvel's tended to shy away from straight-up admitting that in their universe God exists and the structure of reality is much like what the Bible says, but DC jumped right in feet-first with characters like the Spectre and Zauriel and Asmodel, and it made for interesting reading.
The exact reason i dig Z! I give DC mad props for saying this entity exist and this is one of his followers! i did read somewhere in wizard or some &^%$ that Z was a substitute for Hawkman and his messed up history, but i never paid attention to that and just thought of them as different characters. Z is hella cool!

That was pretty cool. :awesome:

I'll have to read Morrison's JLA...and then and only then, one day, maybe someday, perhaps Sunday, I can comment on Zauriel.

Yeah, well we're moving on in the mean times. :o

SupergirlLinda Danvers

AKA, Matrix with a host.

I love this Supergirl. I grew up with her.

I like her costume but the only Supergirl I was ever PROPERLY aquainted with was the 2004-2011 model.

I have never dug Supergirl in any shape or form. ( other than chicks in that outfit at conventions! hahahaha!)
gender changing characters of established characters have always left me. like yeah whatever.. and they really have to do something to break out of the established character's shadow for me toi dig em. it's say alot when freakin "Power Girl" has distanced herself from the rest of Superman's clones. All Supergirls kinda suck to me.

Linda Danvers was the bestest post crisis Supergirl ever and I absolutely loved her series :hrt:

I'd really like to see her come back at some point but i don't know if she still exists or not :(

She's kind of the best example of writers going through hoops for the sake of nostalgically having at least some sort of Supergirl flying around, showing up at a time when editorial mandated (for better or worse, whatever your opinion might be) that Superman had to be the one and only Kryptonian survivor. Nevertheless, she's the Supergirl I grew up with and ended up as a pretty good character in her own right, so I've got a soft spot for her.

And Peter David did a pretty good job making her series a really good one

Well, mostly positive. Cool.

The Fatal Five

Meh.

That's the thing, I absolutely adore the Legion but I'm generally cold to their villains.

What's the deal with the Fatal Five? Like, there's five of them... and they can kill you I guess? That's it. They're not really that interesting, either as a group or as individuals, and they never seem to want anything of than being generally evil.

Honestly, my favorite Legion villains are the ones they borrowed from other DC books, like Darkseid and Ra's Al Ghul.

Oh come on dude. That big one is Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad's kid. I mean, that's just effin' awesome.

Freakin Hell yeah next to Mordru my favorite Legion bad guys!

Hell yeah Validus is the dude!my fav!( dude has a freakin transparent brain casing! I love that!) and i just know Mano the dude who touches anything and its disintegrates( i just know inside that bubble helmet he's a black dude!:cwink: haha) really the only lame one is "Emerald Empress"(that is one hokey ass name!) with a floating eyeball!sheesh! Tharok who is constantly fighting with his self .."his robot self" thats cool! those dudes rock!

But that Eyeball is an Eyeball ripped out of the socket of giant Green Lantern. No, the half robot *****e is the worst of the bunch.

You'd think the villains of the future wouldn't look so dated.

Linda Danvers Supergirl was okay, at least it was well-meant.

The Fatal Five are awesome.

I always liked the Emerald Empress. There's something oddly cool about a hot uppity b**** and her giant enslaved floating eyeball. Validus is cool because of his weird backstory. The Persuader's a solid "scary tank" archetype. Never really cared much for Mano or Tharok.

I only know the Emerald Eye of Akron because of 52. It was cool enough then.
