State Your Opinion on a Marvel Character - Part 1

Nitro seems utterly useless to me. It boggles my mind that this guy has been at the heart of two major comic events at this point. I just, I don't... why?

Maybe they were trying to Doctor Light him...all of a sudden the character was used in a major story, and now we were supposed to accept him as a recurring A-Lister. Tho, while his only claim to fame will be Civil War, that beats out being Rape Man.

Yeah, that'd be the first of the two major events I was talking about. Civil War is the second.

i totally feel the same. Nitro blows!! (pun intented and unintended) and yes though there are no bad characters just bad writers. the potential for greatness needs to be there... otherwise its a longer hill a writer has to climb. i dont like cats who suck, all of sudden being thrown into superstar status.Dr.light,Libra the Hood, Nitro. *&^9 that!! dude blows himself up for Jimmny Cricket's sake!! and that *&^% with wolverine like Moral said was plain stupid!! granpa nitro( why's is that dude's hair gray!?! gets a 4 on the suckometer!

I agree with the masses here...Nitro is just kind of a dumbo to me. I was scratching my head why he was involved in Civil War...surely they could have picked nearly ANYBODY else? Ah well....where was I? Oh yeah...lame-o character...

Havok is awesome, best summers family member by far.

Nitro is alright, the idea of wolverine taking him down during civil war was ridiculous. That's the height of wolverine's overpowerment.

What killed me about that was how that was a sign that Wolverine had to be involved in absolutely e-ver-y-thing! Of all the heroes running around in the Marvel Universe, why'd it have to be Wolverine of all people who went after Nitro?

And yes, Nitro sucks.

If Marvel wants to elevate a C list villain, I could think of a 100 different people before Nitro.

I think he fit the story perfectly. The suicide bomber who doesn't die.
Didn't matter anyway. They didn't elevate him at all. Hell, he was an after thought as far as the story was concerned. They needed a guy that could kill a large amount of people that could make whoever he was fighting look like they were in the wrong. That's exactly what he does. Sure you could have used others, but he fits just as well as anybody else. A dumb, unfeeling, sociopath with tremendous destructive potential.

Was it explained why he entered the Bugle to blow the floor Norman was in? I saw him do that and no mention of him later

HOOOOOOOOWWWWW OOLD IS SHE???
( hehe)

They're both ok. I loved WBN in Frankencastle where he was the *****ebag of the group. As for John, I prefer him as hero astronaut or his time as Cap's personal pilot, a role that was all too brief. He could be a great member of the Avengers support staff but it seems like Marvel has no interest in using them again.

He was made for this line

What he said

Jack Russell is the f***ing bomb, and Marvel seriously needs to follow DCs lead and have another look into their horror stuff.

Oh, BlackieV. I love you, two.

I like Werewolf more than Man-Wolf. I much prefer it if Marvel gave us a continuity free from Galactus, X-Men, Avengers, Venom, Ghost Riders, and costumed supers and put all of their supernatured in one self-contained universe. Not that Morbius and Dracula and Werewolf wouldn't exists in 616, but like how Punisher has both 616 and Max, so too would those guys.

They don't need to leave the 616. Ghost Rider and the Defenders had great stories involving "The Horrors". Just make sure everything takes place anywhere but New York and you're ok.

I'd like to see some horror stories from Latveria.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

I never said take them away from 616, I said go the Marvel Max route with them.

I loved a Marvel Comics Presents issue with Werewolf By Night in which he happened to run into Sabretooth, who'd taken a woman and was mutilating her with his claws. He completely kicked Sabretooth's ass. :D

i freaking loooooove were"WOLVES"!!!( hehe i love you tooo wolfy!). They by far are my fav of all horror creatures. Soooo obliviously i dig both of these. only i dig Man-wolf a bit more. like Run said. he was awesome as Cap's pilot and should have stayed that way. not only is he a good dude who loses his mind and rips people apart. he also has to contend with having a jerkbag as a dad. dude knows spider aint a criminal, but probably cause his dad is always talking a&^%$ around the dinner table. when he transforms and has remnants of thought. he goes after spider!Thats cool! Plus his torn up ass clothes= akinda cool costume/not one.i dig WBN ,but Manny abit more. WBN/6, Manny/7 on the rocktor.

Werewolf by Night was great in Spider-Woman's comic. He turned up quite a bit.

hehe i got that book as a kid ( probably why i turned out the way i did)I still got it. it was one of the reasons i dug WBN so much. i think wolfy is about to have some fun. who knew spider woman was into some kinky stuff! try explaining that cover to civilians who dont read em .i sooo love comic books!!!

I think the thing that makes Man-Wolf my number 2 is also the thing that made him so unique with the werewolf-archtype...the whole mystical space gem/space-warrior/cosmic stories. A little too out there for a wolfman. Yes, it made the him stand-out in the werewolf community, but I'll take the more grounded werewolf-on-the-run character. Not that I didn't read Stargod.
