cool! eveybody digs ice cube!

Next up.. coming for humble beginnings this man worked his way up thru hard work, preservation and basically misrepresenting and using the media for his own twisted agenda!! No! its not Rupert Murdoch. it's

I prefer JJJ's portrayal in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon to the way he was played in the Spider-Man movies. JK Simmons was sometimes over the top and it became a bit hammy and too spoofish. It lacked some of the subtleties of the character that you get in the comic. He seemed to be there purely for laughs.

Love JJ. Thought JK Simmons did an awesome job (okay, it was little over the top on occasion).

Easily one of the greats, used to look at him as a comedian gnat before watching the 90s cartoon and seriously reading comics

That was his purpose in the movies

He was hammy in those movies, but those movies were all very corny.

JJJ is awesome. Loving him as Mayor.

Spider-Slayer issues by Lee are among my absolute favorites

Nothing wrong with an over-the-top JJJ. The guy prints flat-out lies in his newspaper to further his own anti-superhero agenda. He's sort of over-the-top by definition.

Anyway, I like him. It's hard not to, what with his cartoonish hatred of Spider-Man. He makes for a fun, usually harmless antagonist.

Yep...agreeing with the masses here. Longtime JJJ fan...liked him in his first appearance and the ol' tightwad hasn't let me down let. Dude is such a curmudgeon that one almost CAN'T not like him!

JJJ has always been a great character in the Spidey books. Slott has done a good thing in making JJJ mayor of New York...a very excellent character progression.

I really like the idea that, despite his excessive anti-super hero stance, he's an ethical guy who has standards. Like, he's willing to stretch the truth or even flat out lie to make Spider-Man or other heroes like him look bad, but he's also a civil rights activist and refuses to do things that will knowingly put innocent people in danger. I mean, while there is a certain amount of jealousy involved, that is a core rationale for why he hates Spider-Man: He thinks people who have other people's lives in their hands need to be held accountable and that people who work outside of the law are dangerous. He's comic relief but he's comic relief with a lot of layers.

Eh, when a journalist is willing to print baseless lies about anything, it sort of calls everything about his integrity into question for me. I've never really seen him as too much of a stand-up guy. At best, he looks out for those close to him.

Wow definitely not how I expected! I think JJJ is a total dick! Next to the goblin homeboy has made petes life a living hell!cause of him its "damn if you do!damn if you don't" and to use the media which is suppose to be unbias(unlike a Fantastic Opera Xray network that will reamin unnamed for your own campaign that dude sucks! If I was pete I wouldn't save his ass which in turn would make you becoming wolverine which is why we have the age of not being able to tell the heroes from the bad guys! Hes a 2 on the suckometer.I wouldn't vote for that dude to be dog catcher let alone mayor!

I love JJJ's antics. Imagine how lame the Daily Bugle scenes would be if JJJ were a complete Perry White copy, or if he were in any way cool and level-headed?

Plus, I just love that Peter has an ******* boss. Peter has defeated villains that would make Jonah **** his pants, but when Peter goes into that office he's completely powerless against Jonah's crap. Works so well for the whole Spider-Man mythos.

I was a fan of the way JJJ went in Ultimate Spider-Man. Bendis wrote in some good, clear background motivations and had the character grow as he went. That, plus the humor too. So it was all good.

I've grown tired of JJJ's antics, myself. After 50 years, you think the guy would develop into something more. I much more preferred his Ultimate counterpart. I was hoping he being the mayor would have been interesting, but they went the no-brainer route of having him use his resources and the city's money to antagonize Spider-Man, of course.

I'm not saying he should start worshiping Spider-Man, just...enough, all ready. We get it. You want to (*^& Spidey. Could be worse, though. They could have Red-Hulked him.

Him being a man-child is part of his appeal, good for laughs

This. My favorite moments with him was during inferno when he was like leader of the resistance against the demon hordes.

Yeah, Spectacular Spider-Man #147. That was one of the best Inferno tie-ins Spidey had. Spidey, Jonah and the Bugle staffers against an army of demons. Awesome stuff. Plus MJ, Harry (as Green Goblin) and Robbie were fighting their own battles.

Hell, all of the Spider-titles Inferno tie-ins were outstanding. The next Spectacular issue, #148 with Flash and Betty fighting 2 demons posing as Spidey and a zombie Ned Leeds was a terrific issue too. It had the coolest title, "Night of the Living Ned!".:yay:

funny that Red hulk was mentioned cause F^%$# That piece of &^%$$! that guy dont exist for me! This here's the man!! put you hands together for the one! the only!
