Stephen King's 'Carrie' remake

I'm pretty pumped for this. I loved the end of the trailer. The build up to the prom intercut with the footage of the prom was amazing. The prom scene looks amazing. I hope its with Evil Dead so I can see it on the dvd.

Wow, it looks...just like the other movie version that I've already seen.

The end prom freakout is what everyone remembers from the 76 movie. It's kind of the selling point. It's not like it's really a surprise anymore.

What's good about this remake is that it actually takes the opportunity to expand the scope of the prom freak out to the destruction of the entire town as is what happens in the book.

The original was fairly faithful to the book. All I expect from this film is a bigger budget and the ending the original deserved.

As a huge fan of the book and the original film, i have to say.. This looks like it has absolutely nothing new to offer. Sissy Specek's performance was incredible, if Chloe's performance doesn't at least match hers, which i suspect she won't, i really don't see a point in seeing this film.

I know, I read the book too. Frankly, we need a remake of IT with its town-destroying ending restored more than Carrie ever did.

We need a remake of IT for alot of reasons...

They can leave out the preteens banging eachother, though. :o

Nah, I wanna see a big-budget IT. Make it a Part 1 and Part 2 movie thing that seems to be all the rage these days.

Nah, miniseries.

Exactly. I love Stephen King, but what the hell was he thinking then?

Back to Carrie. Loved the original film, thought the book was all right too. Not particularly interested in a remake, but not opposed to one either. But underwhelmed by the trailer, since it seems like it's not bringing anything new, other than destruction at the end.

Since one of my best friends famously leaped about five feet backwards at the ending while watching the original at a sleepover party (20 years later, she is still teased mercilessly over it), I'll always be partial to that ending. :funny:

They already did an IT mini-series.

TV hasn't been kind to Stephen King.

Nothing can beat the power of cinema... done right.

TV now is different from TV then. Put IT on HBO. Give it 10 episodes. It would be delightful.

Oh, someone just give me a halfway-decent version of Salem's Lot already. :argh:

Walking Dead is a heavy reason miniseries are horrible. :o

Now THAT I'd be fine with on the big screen. The story is much less sprawling than IT or The Stand.

Nope, just a lover of the comics and good tv.

I keep trying to watch the Carrie trailer on yahoo, but their video loading is horrible. :csad:

You guys do know there's a two-part IT film in the works, right?

Unlike some other cash grabs Hollywood has done like with splitting the last Twilight and The Hunger Games books into two films, IT is a book that could actually benefit from a 2-part film. The first part could be when they're kids and the second part could take place when they're adults. The only thing is...do they still make it a period piece?

Oh, go back to your casting threads and tell everyone else how wrong they are. :o
