Stephen King's "IT" remake has found a writer - Part 3

I just bought my tickets for Friday 7:30 pm (Sept. 8). It looks like pre-sales are pretty strong if this theater is anything to go by. Still lots of seats left, but the prime location seats are already quite full.
I'm glad I got our seats now, I prefer an aisle seat in the upper middle section and I doubt there would be any left in another day or 2.

I'm actually going with my brother and he only sees maybe 3 or 4 movies a year so it surprised me when he asked if I wanted to see IT with him.

The original is on Syfy now if you never seen it. Showing the entire thing, four hours of it. About to go watch this "fight" but give it a watch.

God, wouldn't it be such a brutal troll move to make us wait until 2044 for Part 2?

I really think this has the potential to hit $100M opening weekend, what with the terrific tracking and social media reactions.

Can't deny the fact that many people on this board and other social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) criticized Pennywise's look in this film after the first few reveals we had. I'm wondering, after we've seen and read so much about him and this movie, what people's thoughts are now?

I always loved his look. I was perplexed by people saying he looked too scary, and no child would ever go near him. Anyone familiar with the book knows he never tries to entice children with his appearance. He goes out of his way to terrorize them by turning into what they fear the most.

The only time he was ever "friendly" with a child in the book was with Georgie. And Georgie was as dumb as a plank.

I thought the EW reveal pic of his look was pretty terrible. He looks much better in production stills.

As an adult he looks a little off and we know this. As a kid, your mindset is different.

Had this been the first image we saw of Pennywise, I think there would have been much less complaining.

Images like the infamous "Pipe" photo launched a million jokes.

No, I think the one complaint was always that It looked too scary. I never minded, since he looked appropriate to the scenes he's in.

I think this shot might have been a more appealing shot:

When Fukunaga dropped out of this I initially kind of wrote it off. Glad to see I was wrong.

The Early photoshoots were out of control text and extremely flat leaving only the actual design itself to be picked apart. I have to say, when the first imsges came out I more or less told my eyes because the glimpses we saw were so totally in linr with a lot of current horror designs like Annabelle that ate do obvious and overwrought to the point of not even being effective.

What we have now from the trailers and newer imaged is a much better sense of personality and character. Your example would have been a great first image. We had some similar but we're more obviously composited.

I loved the design ever since the first EW shot. In just about every movie aside from original IT the clown design always looked complete crap (ex. Clownhouse, Final Draft and on and on), but not only is this good, but, since I saw the trailer, its actually a terrific design. Personally I absolutely love it

It really shouldn't have though. Some of the creepiest imagery in the novel is when Pennywise violates the laws of nature

So pumped for tonight. I haven't been this excited for a movie in quite some time. I have my fingers crossed for it to be great.

Wow, I didn't realize your screening was this early. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the movie. :D :D

Yeah, I got the pass email late Thursday and grabbed it up as quickly as I could. Going as early as I can because I know the line will be long for this one. Thanks a bunch, I'll be in to report some brief thoughts after the movie.

Am I crazy or if the reviews are good, it has a real shot at Oscar nomination for Makeup?

Bad reviews didn't stop Skwad from winning last year so yeah, why not. There is definitely a chance but I think Darkest Hour has it in the bag.

Yeah, I'm talking nomination. The win will probably go for DH.

The reviews don't have to be good for that, at all. Those technical categories have nothing to do with positive reviews.

The Wolfman remake won makeup and it has a 34% on RT.
