Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist thread

What would you guys think of Christian Howard as Iron Fist for the Netflix show?

Finally caught up with this. This was awesome!!! This is pretty much everything I wanted Mortal Kombat: Legacy to be and then some.

I will say this, while I like Mortal Kombat: Legacy, I think it's too jam-crammed with characters and subplots. And I mean I like seeing all the characters represented, but because of that it feels we get less time with them in such a short season.

I feel like with this series, they kept a tighter, more focused plot with the duality of Ryu, Ken, Gouken and Gouki, Gouken, and Gotetsu.

Definitely glad to have you here man. How long have you been a Street Fighter fan and who are you're favorite characters?

Hell yeah! Looking forward for what's in store next. I hope after they've proven themselves a couple times, that they get a decent budget, and get to make a movie with an actual theater release. Can't wait to see what other characters they'll bring to life in the follow up.

Now I'm torn between whether or not, I want a season about the 1st tournament done Bloodsport style OR episodes developing Shadaloo and their issues with the American Military and Interpol to lay the groundwork for Chun-Li, Charlie, and Guile's personal connections to M.Bison

What does "fast-tracked" mean?

I haven't read the article yet, but it should mean the powers that be, which could be Capcom, and those who could fund this project, are much more willing to get behind a new season since this one turned out so well. With all these pieces falling into place quicker, it should mean a follow up series won't take as long as this one did (funding and license I think took a lot of work for this one).

Also, I'm now ready to eat up any other Street Fighter (animated) movies, what's the next best one to go for after the original animated manga movie?

I like the version USA network had in the 90s

The Street Fighter II: Animated Movie is the best animated Street Fighter iteration. Alpha anime was pretty bad and Alpha Generations was disappointing/below average. The Street Fighter II V anime series was really campy with a lot of bro-mance, but it was actually a decent anime worth watching.

The Udon comics are decent and take place essentially right after Ryu and Ken leave Gouken's dojo. The Street Fighter mangas are pretty good too.

Thanks! This is really good news.

Actually here's what Joey Ansah said:

JOEY: That’s the plan; I’m not going to say too much now, but my producer team are working with Capcom to fast track another and they’re very keen for us to keep moving forward.

So, what are you guys in favor of :

1. Ryu beating Sagat on his own and resisting the Satsui No Hado successfully in this fight

OR

2. Sagat being on the verge of beating Ryu and Ryu's dark Hadou kicks in just in time for a Metsu Shoryuken?

I expected to see or hear mention of either Guile or Charlie in the fight scene with the military guys. Anyone else? :)

Funny you mention that....Joey actually said he was considering either making them cameo or namedropping them in Said scene

I'd rather he beat him on his own maybe after resisting it initially. I guess it just depends on what route they go for the next story, which I'm guessing will be the World Warrior Tournament.

I'm not a huge SF lore person, but my two cents would be that after seeing him being almost taken over by the dark Hadou in his and Ken's final fight in AF, it'd be a great way of showing growth by having him resist it, and still defeating Sagat. I'm basically hoping for a live action version of the fight they have at the start of SF2: The Animated Movie. I certainly wouldn't mind if Hadoukens looked like the one there too, with electricity jumping in and out of the Hadouken.

I think it depends on what Ryu is all about. When he takes part in the first tournament, will he still be not as strong as he becomes in the future or will he be strong enough to beat down Sagat without any crazy stuff? I don't really know much about his character growth, so it's hard for me to say.

I would really hate it if Ryu would have to rely on the Satsui No Hado to win against Sagat.

Christian Howard and Joey Ansah with Scott Adkins and Vaughan Lee at London Comic-Con. Could there be some Guile-talks?! http://www.whosay.com/status/scottadkins/909767?wsref=fb&code=QFD8r5Y

I don't know if I'd want Adkins as Guile. I think I'd rather see him as Cody. I guess even Rolento could work.

Well, I guess if I see drawback with Adkins as Gulie is the slight concern of how unnatural-blonde hair would look on him. Maybe even more fake-looking than Van Damme's did? Then again, the dark-haired Olivia Thirlby didn't look too bad with blonde hair as Cassandra Anderson in Dredd. So, who knows?
