Stupid slang term thread

I am also starting to hate the fact that people when they agree with some one are saying "Yeah" 3, or 4 times in a row. What the hell is that about?

It's just saying my fault. Did you honestly not know that? Seeing what happened before they say it, gives you a pretty good idea of what it means. Just saying. And you're right, there was already a thread like this because I remember participating in it.

I know what it means. But it's stupid. I think it annoys me moreso b/c as I said before, it's so often used in lieu of a genuine apology. I've seen this exchange more times than I care to count.
"Apologize!" (Or "Say you're sorry", or "You owe this person an apology"-something to that effect.)
"My bad."

Epic...

...Really now...I hate that term!

"random"
"sketchy"
"creeper"

I hate those words and I hate the uncreative people who use them. :cmad:

OK, well thats certainly an overstatement, but the sentiment is there.

I'm beginning to hate the term "chavs" after reading this thread.

Other term for Chavs is scumbags. I like the usage of Scumbags more. Chav came from the UK and of course the Irish always steal Britain's slangs.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, they say.

In what context do you hate the word "random?" It couldn't possibly always be uncreative to call a series of unforeseen or possibly unrelated events "random."

:hehe: I always use random, when it is suitable. What else am i gonna say when a little old woman on a bright orange wheelchair rolls past? That is RANDOM!

Wrong use of the word "is".

I hear, ALL THE TIME, on XBox live, "What color is you?" So I tell them all that I'm not answering until the question is asked in a grammatically proper sentence.

Use of the word "mad" improperly. "That dude is mad funny, yo!"

The first one I consider more a case of poor grammar than actual slang.

I normally would have said that, but almost every time I call someone out on it, I hear, "I know it's not right, that's how I talk," (actually, it's, "I know it ain't right, dat's just what I wanna say").

Then, sometimes, your statement pulls through, and I hear, "I know how to speak proper."

If you're going by that standard, lots of words are used improperly. For instance, "She's pretty ugly" is the worst case of an oxymoron, or more commonly "You're dumb smart" is another example.

The use of "pretty" in that way is actually NOT incorrect. By definition, it also means "reasonably"... Or, for example, the way we use "kind of", but to a greater extent.

The second however, I've never even heard that... So I can't give you anything there.

I use "sweet as a nut mate" or "safe as houses" quite a lot. I suppose some people would find that strange.

No moreso than "useful as a black highlighter". I use that one from time to time.
