Subtle things you want in the movie

true, i wont be disappointed either way....just saying you never know what snyder will give us

I was shocked when I noticed that the World Trade Center has been included in the film. I wasn't outraged, or angry, or anything like that. It just amazed me that the towers seemed so out of place. I thought it was a very subtle thing for the film-makers to think of.

Dosen't the movie open with a montage? maybe they'll show Dollar Billl being shot there.

Well, the movie/graphic novel takes place in (an alternate) 1985, so it makes sense that the towers are there.

I really want to hear Iggy Pop's Neighbourhood Threat playing when Dan is returning home to find his friend eating the beans, it's the tune playing out the knot top's ghetto blaster, love that tune, even just a hint of it in that scene would do me.

I want to hear the slurping and crunching of Rorschach's eating the beans and sugar cubes. I'd also like that part where Dan smells Rorschach in his bedroom before he can even see him. As long as they sell the idea that Rorschach is really gross, I'm going to be pretty pleased.

Me too, I always wander what he smells like. >.>

I want to see the giant Pale Horse "Kristallnacht" billboard as we are seeing all of the dead bodies in New York.

I used to think that Dan was sniffing Rorschach's stink as well--but then I noticed that Rorschach is actually putting on Dan's Nostalgia cologne, and that is what Dan is smelling. Rorschach actually steals the bottle from Dan, and it breaks when he jumps from Moloch's apartment.

"What's that smell? aftershave?"

There's alot of hidden or overlooked subtleties to the book, that's why I love it.

I remember that, I just never connected it all together. I love the little details, I hope they are prominent in the movie.

On the topic of smell, I wonder what Nostalgia smells like. I always picture cinnamon and cigars, but thats just me.

Talking about subtleties, I hope there is Manhattan talking about tachyons, the second law of thermodynamics and things like that.

I also hope they're not dumb enough to make Manhattan be part of the making of that idiotic machine they've been talking about.

It would be awfully redundant to make a radioactive übermensch called "Manhattan" to get involved in such a thing. And would destroy the most subtle of subtleties:

he is not concerned about Earth, he sees life as one more thing in the universe. Helping Veidt would be ridiculous.

One thing that wasn't necessarily subtle but i found semi important and kool was how Dr. Manhattan etched the symbol for hydrogen into his own forehead would love to see that!!

Oh wow, I think you're right. Never thought of it that way!

*Hurm* Not really a subtle thing per say, but in the new trailer I noticed when Rorschach and Nite Owl crashed Archie in the snow, they're actually pretty much in front of Ozzy's palace. With that said, and thinking as logical as possible, there's no need for Nite Owl to be wearing his snow suit or any need to bust out the hover bikes to Ozzy's door; so it's easy to say Zack cut those two things outta the movie. Not that it won't really make a huge impact or gap in the story, just something I just happened to notice.

I wonder if they're going to show that scene where Rosch is holding a picket sign without wearing his mask. Is it true that they are keeping the actor playing Roch a secret until the movie comes out?

Jackie Earle Haley, who plays Rorschach, has been seen in some footage walking around as Walter Kovacs, holding the "End is Nigh" sign.

I really hope we see Manhattan create the symbol on his forehead. Would be sweet.

Also, not so much a subtle thing, but i hope the scene of Manhattan getting ready before his TV appearance has him putting his suit on using his powers. Would be so awesome to watch.
