We have a test forum for the new skin, the images are uploaded so it works now. That's what I mean. It's up to Drak to announce it and make it usable to the general posters. I gave him the go.
"Let's wind the clock back," shall we? About two years ago we would access the main page, read some cool new articles and if we wished to discuss the topics, we would head over to the forums and do so. Out of convenience, people requested a comment box be made available under the articles, and it was done.
Present day: Launch your Internet Browser and navigate over to Superhero Hype! main page. "Oh cool, sweet superhero news! I'm going to express my opinions and feelings on the topic and engage in a conversation below." You scroll down only to see this POS mess:

You are all a bunch of morons for your "first" bullcrap! Don't you have anything better to do than spend your time trying to be the first person to make a comment, and then worrying that much about it! Here's something you should try - Be the first one to make a minimally intelligent comment!

first yes my life is complete!
@ Firsty McFirston the Firstiest
how does it feel to not be first!

I like the cast they've put together. Hopefully they have a script to match. I'm holding my breath, though, because Branagh has been hit and miss as a director.
...and, 'first' does not count as a post...try to say something at least.

9th.........................................................what's the big deal about being 1st? Do you win a cash prize, or free movie tickets?

BEHOLD... the rantings of a complete idiot!

FIRSTY IS FIRSTIEST OF THE FIRSTY FIRSTERS! YES! I AM COMPLETE! YOU COMPLETE ME! I COMPLETE ME!
And it isn't just once in a while, it is on every freaking article!
I have 3 possible solutions (1 being the most plausible and 3 being the least):
1. Remove the comment feature and link to the correct section in the forums or to a specific thread
2. Make it so you have to use your SHH! ID to use the feature.
3. Make it so people's IPs are registered and moderate the comments section so that little crap-heads like Firsty McFirston the First, or whatever the hell his name is, are perma-banned from the site.
I've said it many times before: The main page posters tend to be the ******ed cousins of the forums.
These ****-up relatives have chomped down on the hand that feeds them and I think it's about time that something is done about it.
Please voice your opinions on this matter because it's becoming ridiculous and it's just making the site messy.
I actually agree, that's the worst feature of the Coming Soon, SHH, and Shock Till You Drop homepages. Nothing is commented that should be commented on.
Let's be frank man, it's going to a ***** to rewrite the frontend to jive with the forum. Unless Mirko wants the hassle of creating a new thread for new news post. You are pretty much better off rewriting the code of SHH's frontpage all together. That ain't cheap.
Although I hear the new vbulletin might make this easier, but that isn't out yet. And I doubt Mirko will do it still.
In all seriousness though I think the best option is for them to be moderated. I know it would take man power but I don't want riff raff like that coming to the forums and creating more hassle for us to deal with in here.
I'm all about keeping the forums and registration a little exclusive. It means that only the serious posters and the die-hardest of trolls sign up.
Moderating the comments is the best option even if it does take a little more staff.
I would just remove the feature honestly. It cost too much to pay someone to moderate it. Or rather approve comments. It only matters if the community is the comments like TMZ, but it is not the case here.
I'm not even sure why a comment section was added in the first place. Every news article posted, in some form, is discussed right here in the forums. A simple link towards those specific discussions is all that's necessary. That's what many news sites do.

Before there would be a link to the forum if it was general news or a link to a thread if it was big news (like trailers and box office earnings). That isn't hard to due. You just type "Click here to discuss this topic in our forums" and attach the URL to that sentence. TADA!!!

Well, the mods for the forums don't get paid, and I think they do far more work than the front page would require. However, I agree with just removing the feature.
