The sig was one, and the threads belonging to social groups were just completely black. I was trying to read the two Hype Alumni Survivor threads the other day and found it impossible.

What do you mean completely black? If people make their text black, it will be persistently black no matter what. Just swap for the Dynamite skin to see. If this is not the case than a link wouldn't hurt.

Like here on this page. Nearly every name Marx listed is blacked. But it wouldn't make sense that he did that on purpose since the words are already black, right? All he did was make them bold didn't he?

I use the default blue skin...so I'm not sure what is going on with any other skins...but all of the names listed in the 'Alumni' thread of the Hype Survivor social group are not bolded. I typed them all like I normally do. The only thing that I bolded was the 'Current listing through 'Hype Survivormania' edition'.

Weird. They're black on dark red in the vigilante skin, while the other posts are bright colored.

I used Dynamite and it is black like vigilante. You guys can switch to see it yourself.

You must have clicked the color button to make it black.

Which editor mode do you use Marx? If you use the classic version, you will see all the code, and it might hint as to whether you are using black. If you don't mess with the text color (save for particular ones like red or green) it sticks with the default text.

BTW The text on the group posts are too big for my skin. I already posted a fix. Any admin can fix this, this doesn't have to be Drakon.

Take a look at Marx's Survivor Alumni post code Drak. The first couple posts. It's blacked out for my and your skin. Subsequent posts are the correct coloring. Pretty certain he might have coded the text to be black.

Able to log in using a proxy IP, but still cannot get on otherwise.

Possibly your subnet number was banned. Not you, but someone else within your area and ISP. Thus resulting your current problem... aka collateral damage.

You should probably note when this started happening. Then a moderator should cross reference it to ban listings in the mod/admin forums (within the date/time of your problems). Have the an admin check if the subnet is similar.

It shouldn't be hard, I don't think subnet ip bans are common here. Again, this is a possible scenario. Not necessarily the correct one.

I didn't 'code' anything...I typed those posts the same way that I do every other post I make.

As I suspected. Marx you are using the WYSIWYG mode. Top right corner of the editor. Notice the button?

There are two modes. It's more obvious in the vigilante skin (switch to it temporarily right now).

WYSIWYG - white input field (you are using this)
non-WYSIWYG - black input field

WYSIWYG = What You See Is What You Get

The non-WYSIWYG allows you to see all the coding. Such as:

WYSIWYG - Text here
non-WYSIWYG - [COLOR="Black"]Text here[/COLOR]

Swap to the non-WYSIWYG mode and edit out all the "COLOR=Black" tags. You should fix it. Or Drak could fix it. Key point is, it is not a skin problem.

Edit the posts.
Copy all.
Go to Wordpad.
Paste all.
Do a CTRL+H to do a 'replace find'
Search for , and with no replacement, press 'replace all'
Search for , and with no replacement, press 'replace all'
Search for , and with no replacement, press 'replace all'
Copy what was in Wordpad, and paste it in place of the post.
Save.

The thing is Marx, the WYSIWYG editor mode "codes" it for you automatically. Sometimes unintentionally. In your case, that is what happened. This is also why I personally use the non-WYSIWYG mode.

edit: Go to edit options. This is how you set it up to be the non-WYSIWYG mode. You want to use "Standard Editor". You will see the "code" this way as well. You are probably using "Enhanced Interface"
