Mods, what is exactly the RULE on image hotlinking? I got a warning before on that, but still not quite 100% on that.

So, is it ONLY Imageshack and Photobucket that we can Hotlink to? But not images even from on CNN.com, Yahoo.com, etc which are SAFE?

Hotlinking is no longer prohibited AS LONG AS it doesn't turn to something pornographic. If you hotlink an image, and it does turn to something pornographic, you will be banned without recourse.

If I were you, I would take the extra 10 seconds and upload the image through an image sharing website.

Well I know if I hotlink from a Yahoo, CNN site it can't have pornographic, right?

I just find it silly to need to rehost if I know these sites are ABSOLUTELY safe!

imageshack and photobucket are images hostings--so you're not hotlinking from 'em.. there's also tinypic

To be honest, I'm not so sure that any site is completely safe when it comes to that.
